And why you left?

Mine was 4 months and I left because the commuting. (2hrs each way) I thought I could do it but I couldn't... it also didn't help that my boss was hard work.

A very few weeks as a Saturday girl in a baker's shop. I was 13/14 or so. I was expected to use the bread slicing machine when asked, which was pretty dangerous to use. I hated it anyway, so handed in my notice.

mildshock it wasn't a company in Milton Keynes was it?

A day. I went for a job at a language school as a assistant and as told in the interview speaking to students about their housing- all housed with families. When I got there (they knew I didn’t have a car) I was given a list of houses to VISIT and inspect for suitability. I was told I’d have to get the bus/walk/buy a bike (Cambridge!). Some of the places were in villages way outside the town. I went to two houses that morning as they were local (and I was scared to just walk out), they were disgusting with one family having put their 5 kids and them into one room so they could house host children in the others. It smelled and there was dirt everywhere. Then I went to the next and the guy were creepy as hell. I didn’t go back after that day. Apart from everything else the travel costs would be more than my pay each day!

2 hours 45 minutes! I applied for a receptionist position, got the job and in the day "oh sorry that position is no longer available, jump on the phones and aggressively sell solar panels to vulnerable people".

Fuck that.

For some reason, some of these are making me laugh! Some are not funny obviously.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 12/01/2019 09:16

When I was a teenager I turned up for my first day in a restaurant, got told my mini skirt wasn't short enough (the manager showed me this by grabbing my arse cheek) and one of the other girls told me to be careful if he follows me down to the wine cellar.

I walked out on the spot.

1/2 a day training in a phone shop. I couldn't get passionate about a mobile phone. Or care about a mobile phone enough to be good at the job.
Another job I had I last 4 weeks. I was outsourced by a company (the two chaps there were lovely and I still feel bad now) and was hired by a complete and utter narcissistic arsehole who was doing his best to try and instigate an affair. He wanted us to be "pals" whilst taking me out for dinner and booking a hotel room whilst he had a wife and kids at home. No thanks

Oh I thought of another job! 😂

3 months working in a university library. It was only part time. But really boring and I got annoyed dealing with students who left books strewn over the shelving and on the floor. And doing password resets.

jarhead123 · 12/01/2019 18:10

I've had a few where I've done a few hours - a couple of days.

Generally temp work, really dull/boring and just not for me.

I was young at the time, I'd have more staying power now I think. One job I didn't even tell them, I went for lunch and never went back Shock

CrazySheepLady · 12/01/2019 18:18

I think I lasted about 8 weeks. The job was advertised as a regular office role and nothing in the interview process contradicted this. When I eventually started, it was a call centre role. Not for me and I hated every second of it. I got my old job back and left, giving them one day's notice.

Moretinsel · 12/01/2019 18:30

I had one that was about a month. I wish I’d walked out, I didn’t even consider it. I was fired!
First permanent job in little solicitors, property, very cold office and grumpy man. I kept forgetting to put the enclosures in with letters so he called me in, said i wouldn’t make a secretary and let me go. I cried with the office girls and left. Got a London job the next week and was a great secretary. I wish I could’ve told him that.
