Just that, looking to get tickets for summer and wow, just wow, how much!

They must be cheaper somewhere, but where?

Anyone managed to find a cheaper alternative?

Florida Tix is a good site but we paid around £1500 for the two of us so for a family of 5 it sounds about right. It’s a reputable site and I doubt you’d get cheaper.

Also travel republic were good, we got the special event tickets there (Mickey’s Halloween Party and Universal Horror Night)

We got the £20ish Kennedy tickets (2+ visits) and we got free on site parking and some lovely branded lanyards when we got there.

HermioneWeasley · 05/01/2019 20:02

Martin lewis’s Site usually has the latest deals, but they don’t vary by much. I’m afraid it really is that expensive

Quartz2208 · 05/01/2019 20:02

Attraction tickets do it for 2 adults and 3 children for 3265 (plus free gifts although ignore some they are standard)

LagunaBubbles · 05/01/2019 20:04

Prices are pretty much the same on the main sites I think, that sounds right.

Quartz2208 · 05/01/2019 20:04

to be fair though if you look at the individual prices a 14 day Disney tickets are around £27 per day Universal is £21 which when you look at 1 day prices on the door is very reasonable.

WhatFreshHellisCis · 05/01/2019 20:04

Does that include flights and accommodation?!

iLoveFoood · 05/01/2019 20:06

What's the best cheapest site to get flights and accommodation, it's only for two people so shouldn't be crazy

ltk · 05/01/2019 20:07

How many days?

KitKat1985 · 05/01/2019 20:08

Is that just for tickets? We just bought 14 day Disney tickets for £375pp an adult (£355 for a child) through the main Disney website. www.disneyholidays.co.uk/walt-disney-world/tickets/

And I would have thought Universal tickets would have cheaper than Disney tickets (especially as 2-3 days in Universal would be enough as there's only 2 parks).

Quartz2208 · 05/01/2019 20:09

That is just two sets of 14 day park tickets no flights or accomodation

FoodieToo · 05/01/2019 20:10

We cancelled our Florida holiday as it was going to cost 20 k ( euro ). We decided we would prefer a ski holiday, a summer holiday in Europe and a theme park break instead.
Crazy money !!

Bound · 05/01/2019 20:13

www.netflights.com are usually good on price for Florida holidays and you can book more than a year in advance if you want time to pay it off.

Letsmoveondude · 05/01/2019 20:14

Lol, yeah they’re expensive but they kind of are,
You’ve gotta shop around for your tickets,
Last year we found ATD (attraction tickets direct) were the cheapest (even cheaper than Disney!) plus they were doing adult tickets at child prices and a $25 gift card for each person, plus don’t forget you get 3% top cash back from ATD too.

Also, if you’re on Disney property, you can opt out of having a cleaner each day- so you save $10 per day, and sometimes you can get $250 WDW gift voucher for going to DVC meeting- plus 3 extra fast passes each. Could just be a bit helpful to know for when you’re there!

YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan · 05/01/2019 20:16

You could try this site:
www.ticketrangers.com/

Not used it myself but it was recommended.

Letsmoveondude · 05/01/2019 20:18

Ilovefood- can really vary, absolute cheapest I’m finding is teletext holidays at the moment. They do indirect flights and they sometimes come up at less than £400 for flights and hotel at the avanti which is quite near to universal.

Prices are coming up quite expensive, but I was pricing earlier and 2 adults with indirect flights and Disney hotel was under £1800. Which is good compared to Thomas cooks current prices!

lumpybumpylooloo · 05/01/2019 20:18

Disney and Universal tickets certainly are extortionate.

I’m on a ticket comparison FB Page and the cheapest Disney deal at the moment is with Disney world direct as PP already mentioned (£375 for an adult). With those you’re also getting a magic band for each member of your party. If you go through Quidco there’s £15 cashback per ticket I think and also a £20 bonus.

For Universal the best deal is with Florida Escapes currently. If you use the code UNISAVE it brings it down to £255 for an adult ticket.

It is a huge amount though!

Beketaten · 05/01/2019 20:22

That's only £25 per person, per park, per day. Do you need 14-day passes for both parks? Assuming you're not going to both on the same day. Can you get a 7-day pass for Disney and another for Universal? Or just one 7-day pass and do other things the rest of your holiday?

Unihorn · 05/01/2019 20:26

You can get Universal tickets for about £250 for two day park to park tickets which is all we've found necessary, then Disney for £380 for 14 days. We always stay onsite at Disney and find we really get our money's worth though.

What's insane is the percentage increase in universal tickets over ten years. In 2009 I paid £90 for park to park Universal tickets valid for a week. Now they're £250+ Shock

harrypotterfan1604 · 05/01/2019 20:28

That price sounds like it’s for the freedom ticket for 14 days so unlimited access to Disney (4 parks, 2 water parks) universal (2 parks, 1 water park) and sea world (1 park, 1 water park) so that’s a total of 11 attractions with unlimited access during your 14 night stay. It’s a lot yes but there’s also a lot to do so when you break it down it’s worth the price

10PollyPockets · 05/01/2019 20:28

I used attraction tickets direct and they was good. Unfortunately Disney and universal are insanely overpriced! If you have young kids I don't think you need more than 2 days in universal. We got 14 day tickets for both parks and massively regretted getting a 14 day pass for universal as we only went twice.

Unihorn · 05/01/2019 20:31

www.undercovertourist.com/orlando/universal-orlando-resort/ £220 for adult 2 day tickets, cheaper for children's. No need to buy combi tickets for Disney and Universal together for a premium.

KitKat1985 · 05/01/2019 20:31

N.B: The price above for Disney tickets is because Disney are doing a 14 day ticket for the price of 7, so you may as well get the 14 Day tickets.

As I say above there's only 2 parks at Universal (and a water park) and you could do each park in a (very full) day. So personally I'd get the 14 day Disney tickets and just get 2 days worth of Universal tickets (2 day tickets booked directly are $274.99pp for adults, or $264.99 for children). www.universalorlando.com/web-store/en/us/park-tickets/index.html?days=2&adults=2&children=0&flr=0

Valkyries · 05/01/2019 20:34

yes we used undercover tourist - they often do deals for specific time frames that are useful - also they send you actual tickets - we used them last year

BumbleBeee69 · 05/01/2019 20:38

Im at Universal right now, 5 days, and it’s extortionate the queues are unbearable, so get in lane super early. Annoyingly we were not willing to pay $2000 extra for Priority passes because we’ve already paid nearly £5K to be here, whilst visitors who do pay walk in straight to the front and get on the ride first. So you queue for hours for 3minute Harry Potter rides, kids loved it mind. Volcano Bay is lovely, but its Florida beaches are everywhere but they built one for you. We drove here daily tool so its $25 a day parking so we’re not at the mercy of the Hotel buses. Its the same in Disney, we were there the week of Christmas, Im penniless as of tomorrow folks Grin

Quartz2208 · 05/01/2019 20:39

The other option depending on when you go is bizarrely an annual pass
as the starting price for a seasonal one (Not valid in July) is $304 dollars (for Universal) for 15 months.

We got them as we go at least once a year (it bizarrely now works out cheaper to go their for a week then Europe if I can get a good flight deal) as the hotels are reasonably priced and the weather is good
