I also have separate nursery clothes so I know they’re named. And glad it’s not just me who sends in all the hideous MIL purchases Grin

Leggings/joggers and a long sleeved top with jumper or cardigan. We also have a bag there full of clothes.

I am always wondering why do people put dresses on small girls rather than top and pants?
No matter how comfy and soft the skirt, it gets in the way when trying to to be physically active. There is a reason why nobody exercises in a skirt...

Never got in the way of mine (who has met every gross motor milestone early). I think there are dressss and dresses. Big long party dresses will get in the way but ones that above the knee don’t seem to really. She doesn’t wear them for activities like gymnastics or soft play though.

Generally I find them practical for nappy changes/toilet training and dresses seem to be one of the easiest items for my 2 year old to dress herself with.

Please dress your child in clothes that are easy to move in, comfortable, that she or he can take off easily when they need to use the toilet.

Please pack at least two extra outfits (knickers, trousers, top, socks) for your child in case she has an accident or gets dirty.

Don't pack anything you don't want to get muddy or covered in paint, as despite our best efforts children will find their way to the accessible paint and get it on their hands and, thus, their clothes.

Most important to me is extra clothes. If your daughter is potty training please put underwear in her bag along with trousers and leggings.

And write her name on the labels of everything!! A jumper removed and put on her peg can be played with by other children at any time; a hat or gloves are easily lost. Please please name everything you send with her.

I used to put my son in primark jobbies, so long sleeve t-shirt in the winter with some comfy joggers or leggings and short sleeve t-shirt with shorts in the summer. Easy shoes so sandals/slip on velcro, wellies etc.

We kept a bag on his peg all year round with spare pants, socks and leggings in. Sun hat, sun cream, fold up raincoat thing and hat and gloves etc.

It’s always really hot in childcare settings so we didn’t bother with a vest (though he wears them for school now cause the polls are itchy lol) and just stuck what hoody/jumper he was wearing on to his peg x
