To be blubbing watching the live news conference with the couple who have won £115 million in the new year lottery?

It maybe a cliché but watching the Irish couple who have won the lottery thinking that it couldn't have happened to nicer people.
They seem so genuine. Taking about the biggest joy is going to be helping family, friends, their communities and charities.
Usually don't get caught up in these stories but I think I'm slightly in love.
Their personalities just seem to shine through.
I wish them great happiness and joy spending the money.

There is no way I would go public. I'd just quietly disappear into my own life. I only have DS as family anyway, and not enough close friends who would even notice. I also wouldn't suddenly go crazy on living it up on a lavish lifestyle and flash it all over the internet.

our neighbours know jack-shit about us in the unlikely event of a massive lottery win.

Presumably your old neighbours wouldn't stay your neighbours for long!

I think they are absolutely mad going public. There will surely be a risk from paramilitaries, Moira is about 20 minutes away from Belfast and they’d be easy targets as it’s such a small place.

@ComfortablyGlum I would love to read some of those veggie letters, having worked with the general public I can imagine some of them are nuts!

Guineapiglet345 · 04/01/2019 21:15

*begging not veggie!

LuckyLou7 · 04/01/2019 21:29

@ComfortablyGlum can you ask your celeb boss if he can send me a few thousand so I can go on holiday? I fucking hate January.

And does anyone know the address of these lottery winners so I can get in first with my hard-luck story and plea for just one of their millions?

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 04/01/2019 21:44

heard on the radio tonight 'so lottery winner, what will you do about the begging letters?' ... 'oh those, i'll still send them' Grin

I reckon they'll catch alot of people into going public by pointing out to them they've probably already told their family and friends, so it'll get out eventually when they sell them out to the papers for a quick buck, as mentioned on the last page if I was ever in that position, they'd ask me and I'd say; "no, I haven't told anyone, keep it private please".
