Your most bizarre claim to fame story

cheesenpickles · 03/01/2019 00:54

So, I haven't slept with MH or anybody remotely famous, but have plenty of bizarre claim to fame stories (of my own and family/friends).

My two faves are that Florence Welch ran over my foot with her bicycle and broke my toe. I don't think she realised but she was gigging back in the day and had cycled to the venue (where I worked). She jumped on her bike to push it out of the office and ride home and went straight over my foot, snapping my toe on my left foot.

My darling sil, who is quite the character was in the company of some top music people, drank too much wine at an album party, started dancing and launched her shoe accidentally in her vigour smacking old Sir BG right in the chops apparently. She then repeated said move at my wedding and smashed a load of wine glasses. She's a good 20 years my senior.

C'mon now spill.

FIL was childhood friends with Ringo Starr and his (FILs) Uncle was Batsman to The Queen.

I was accidentally poured red wine over Robert Hardy when I was waitressing at a Hunt Ball. I was only 15 and cried a lot but he was very sweet about it.

Oh my god Shock

Me & a friend met for a quiet midweek drink & ended up with 3 of them offering us a similar set up. They were pushy & annoying, especially as were were only out to chat to each other, so the chatting up soon worse thin & we both told them to fuck off, at which point they hit very catty 😂

RockinHippy · 05/01/2019 14:48

That was at Lool, re dream boys

ihopeyouwitchesareready · 05/01/2019 15:11

iv said this on here before my brother in law.... Dh brother is a scottish celeb. he is curently in a scottish soap and has done loads of tv work but mostly all scottish based. not a massive household name but gets recognised as his soap character all the time.

chickhonhoneybabe · 05/01/2019 15:12

My friend used to do ‘two’s’ (share a cigarette) with Lena Heady when we were in the 6th form at school.

Mangoo · 05/01/2019 15:15

My friend's son goes to school with Tom Hardy's little boy from his first wife (who she happens to be good friends with) and they sit together at sports days and other events.

She said he usually greets her with a hug and a kiss on the cheek Blush

GabsAlot · 05/01/2019 15:25

mangoo what a lucky girl

yourown-good for her for some reason we're very talented round here!

Yourownpersonaljesus · 05/01/2019 15:32

Gabs my mum had a few stories of her own from back in the day! Her most impressive though was that she went out with Kennedy Jones of the Faces (60s band for the youngsters out there).

Yourownpersonaljesus · 05/01/2019 15:33

Kenney Jones not Kennedy!!!

loolooskip · 05/01/2019 15:38

@RockinHippy yeah I guessed that they probably do that most nights and it made me feel a little Envy

cheesenpickles · 05/01/2019 15:39

@Mangoo you mustn't be far from me then. I've a friend who has a nephew involved in martial arts round that way that often sees them.

straightouttavagina · 05/01/2019 17:12

Yes gabs he's lovely to be fair. Polite and friendly :)

BlackPrism · 05/01/2019 17:35

I am descended from a count who crossed the channel with William the Conquerer (we are not aristocracy and I have never even met any).

I grew up near the bloke who wrote 'Aga-do-do-do' and was in drama class at school with someone who works on East Enders.

I have interviewed Joanna Konta

LadyOfTheCanyon · 05/01/2019 17:44

My friend was at The Princess Grace hospital a couple of weeks ago having a broken arm seen to, and Paul Young was in the next cubicle. No idea what was wrong with him despite strenuous earwigging, but he was told to " come back tomorrow." apparently.

Karmagoat · 05/01/2019 17:55

My mum beat up Harry Redknapp when they were at primary school together. Rough old east end bird my Mum Grin

YoThePussy · 05/01/2019 18:33

I was out walking and met a lovely very tall man running very fast the other way. This was in 2012 and it was Usain Bolt. I always tell people I assisted Usain with his training for the Olympics.

LumpsMum · 05/01/2019 19:08

I used to get invitations to Viggo Mortensen’s poetry readings and photo exhibitions, own oodles of books signed by him. I used to run his biggest fan website, with 8 language options at one point, and he didn’t have his own official website, so was very supportive.
It’s tough dealing with any fanbase, though and I gave it up after a few years. As sufficient time has passed now I feel free to say, that he was lovely, but also a weirdo. 😂
And sadly not as tall as I’d imagined. Grin

John Rhys Davies told me he loved my outfit at a convention once. Grin

YouTheCat · 05/01/2019 19:11

John Rhys Davies told me all about his 7 year old dd and how well she was doing at school when I told him I was a TA. He was glowing with pride. Lovely man.

Subtlecheese · 05/01/2019 19:12

I was accidentally filmed by some celeb doing a canal journey. They waved and said hello. What is edited out was before that they bumped my boat, apologised. Then as we sailed on (in opposite directions) they gave a friendly "hello" and I responded. It made it look as though we might have met before the filming. But really it was just normal canal greeting.
Anyway my parents happened to watch the programme and are convinced I am keeping my celeb mate a secret! Because I deny knowing them!

FrankieChips · 05/01/2019 19:12

Me and Adele have the same dentist. I sat next to her in the waiting room once. Our dentist was very excited she was there. She seemed lovely. Very friendly and didn’t mind having to wait (I was before her and there was a delay as some of the appointments went on longer than expected).

FrankieChips · 05/01/2019 19:14

@LumpsMum I loved him as Aragorn but not in anything else. He does seem a bit odd and pretentious. I thought he would be tall too. Must be the hobbits making him look so tall.

Bloodyhilariousthatis · 05/01/2019 19:19

I went to drama classes with Paloma Faith when we were 11/12.

LumpsMum · 05/01/2019 19:21

@FrankieChips bit pretentious and kind of really uncomfortable around his fans, that’s just not a good combo at the height of your fame during the LOTR hype 😂
Very generous with his time at the same time, though.
Lol at the hobbits making him look taller. His old films are the best, unintentionally comical. See The Crew.

Just remembered Annie Lennox once used a ATM machine where I work...
