I worked in a shop in South Kensington, we used to get a lot of celebs. This was years ago. Sharron Davies (muscular calves), Nigel Havers (debonair - a bit up himself), Sting (cool) Nick Heywood (very friendly, used to come in a lot), Anita Harris (stunning, elegant, smiley), Tom Baker (used to be a regular, mad as a box of frogs. Not much acting required in Dr Who, but lovely.) And more.
Before that I had a Saturday job in a shop in the Strand - again, lots of famous people, some of which are probably not known by younger peeps but were big stars of film and tv in their day - Richard Harris (bought a card with ET on it, wore what looked like chefs checked trousers), Sir Robin Day (very rude to a colleague), Elaine Stritch (gravelly voiced, small lap dog with her. Used to see her a lot, she used to live in the Savoy.)
I used to live next door to a Corrie star. She is no longer in it but has a film career before hand and still pops up in some tv programmes. I was taught at school by a very famous actress.
A classmate at school's brother was in Spandau Ballet (Steve Norman)
I used to see Diana, Princess of Wales in High St Kensington a lot. Attractive but not as attractive as her photos. Very photogenic.
Other regular sitings in High Street Kensington: Twiggy, Dave Allen, Michael Winner, Anneka Rice (amazing figure), Frankie Howerd.
I once saw Michael Winner with Jeremy Irons in the M & S in High St Ken. You couldn't miss him. As soon as he got in the door he shouted for the manager in that loud fruity voice. He said he wanted clothes for JI for a film. JI looked embarrassed.
