Hi All

Not sure where to post, sorry if in wrong topic. Fell off all threads etc recently as not been well and couldn't keep up!

Experienced bright red blood on wiping today. Really bright!!

Tummy feeling a little crampy but I don't know if that is nerves or not.

Any thoughts?? Mainly looking for reassurance!! When should I be worried??

Thinking of you this morning OP. Best of luck

Pippa12 · 03/01/2019 07:45

Hope you got some sleep Flowers

Morning All!

Managed to get a few hours sleep.
But I was worrying all for nothing because..

My little bean is fine!! Heard a very strong heartbeat this morning and pic attached.

Nothing to explain the bleeding, they really thought they'd find a problem with my ovary because of where the pain is too. But nothing! Hmm

I'm over the moon and an absolute wreck..
Thank you, all of you, for your really kind comments and Thanks, I am so very grateful.

Time to fix my face and go back to work!! Xx

Amazing news. So happy for you OP

Amazing news, OP! I had this happen at about the same stage and it turned out to be a “friable cervix”. So worrying but nothing to worry about, IYSWIM. Hopefully your little bean won’t worry you again (until he/she is here anyway).

Delighted for you, OP!

I just came on to say, I had several episodes of bleeding bright red blood in the early part of my pregnancy, including one very heavy bleed that saw me end up in hospital in France when we were on holiday. Upset me dreadfully every time and I was referred to the EPU and for additional scans and never really got any answers, but I'm almost 32 weeks now and my baby is kicking away happily as I type and was never affected by it. My bleeding stopped during the second trimester and started again recently, at which point I was finally properly examined by a consultant. I have a vascular area on my cervix (basically cervical erosion, which is very common in pregnancy due to the change/increase in hormones) which bleeds very easily when touched/knocked etc. Sex can cause the bleeding and so can a bowel movement (sorry for TMI!) but they reassured me that it's not a risk to my baby. Although I still have to go to be checked every time I have a bleed.

I guess what I'm long-windedly trying to say is, I sincerely hope you don't have this problem again, but if you're like me you might find this happens again but do take heart that bleeding isn't always a sign of something terrible. Do get checked though and, if you find it happens frequently, try to push for a proper examination if you can. If I'd known mine was something as simple as cervical erosion initially it would have saved a lot of upset.

Very many congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope things go smoothly for you from now onwards. Smile
