I can't even bear to think about it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one dreading it. I'm job-searching at the moment, hoping the new year brings some vacancies and I can make a move. Just have to keep getting through it till then.

Flowers for everyone on here

xlexiix · 01/01/2019 22:53

I am dreading it to I had time off last year for work related stress and anxiety and I thought it had got better but a new management team and lack of communication about what is going on in our company has definitely pushed me right back to where I started.

I honestly can not wait to get out I have an interview lined up in 2 weeks I have everything crossed

MakeAHouseAHome · 02/01/2019 06:33

Predictably I got NO sleep lasy night as was worrying too much about going back today. Arghhhh :-(

Blankiefan · 02/01/2019 06:41

We bought some lottery tickets for last night so kept the dream alive until 11pm.

It wasn't us who won the £114M. Waaaaaah!

OliviaStabler · 02/01/2019 06:50

Good luck to everyone going back to work today and dreading it Flowers Hope the day is bearable.

TheSheepofWallSt · 02/01/2019 06:51

Uh don’t want to get out of bed.....
have a few unpleasant things to deal with today that came up over the break and dreading making the phone calls Sad

bigchris · 02/01/2019 06:52

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 02/01/2019 06:59

I went back today after almost three weeks off including five days staying in a lovely hotel in Sydney followed by two weeks of lolling round the house and going to the beach a lot. I like my job, but I much prefer holidays and lolling about! To add insult to injury when I got in this morning my access had been disabled by IT as I hadn't complete a Security Course, which was on when I was on hols. So I had to twiddle my thumbs until that was sorted. On the plus side there was a bottle of wine and some chocs on my desk that I won in a raffle, so that helped a bit.

Thewheelsarefallingoff · 02/01/2019 07:11

Slept pretty badly last night. Dreading the hundreds of emails and phone calls to get things done urgently today. I've had such a lovely time off with the DCs.Flowers Good luck everyone.

TidaQuel · 02/01/2019 07:15

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 02/01/2019 07:16

Horrible nights sleep
Feel crap
Wish I was off till next week Sad

Iwantmychairback · 02/01/2019 07:29

I don’t go back until tomorrow and am dreading it. I have got into a lovely new routine and don’t want it spoiled by work!
I am actually glad though that I go back tomorrow and not Monday as I know I only have two days to get through until I’m off again and don’t have to face 5 full days before a break.
I start work at 7.30 and I’m sure it will all be feeling normal again by 9am.

Poodloo · 02/01/2019 07:31

At least we are all in the same boat! I also slept horrible last night. I tried to switch off early but last time I checked the time it was midnight. I just couldn't switch off. I'm hoping though that it means I'll get to sleep easier tonight. We can do it everyone!

MaggieAndHopey · 02/01/2019 07:34

Good luck to those of you dreading work today. I hope you feel better by mid-morning - and at least it's only two more days to the weekend.

Squirrelblanket · 02/01/2019 07:35

I'm on my way to work right now.

Was dreading it yesterday and am not much happier right now. I love my job but I love my sofa more! Grin

ThinkOfAWittyNameLater · 02/01/2019 07:39

Alarm went off - it was dark
Got showered in the dark
Got dressed in the dark (and forgot to pick up a cardigan)
Am sitting on a train in the dark.

I want to be in bed, snuggled under the duvet with my little one, maybe the tv is on and elder is watching some shit children's program we can all laugh over. Husband might make a cup of tea and bring it back.

I genuinely enjoy my job but I love being with my family so much more.

speakout · 02/01/2019 07:47

I'm looking forward to it.

But I am self employed and work from home, love what I do.

Sorry.

jessstan2 · 02/01/2019 07:50

Bless you all! Hope it isn't as bad as you think, going back. I'm retired but used to feel like that even though I liked my work. There's something very 'sleepy' about the few weeks after the festive season so I understand how people feel. I could have slept for a week or two! Usually you get back into the swing fairly quickly. If not - look for something new. A change is as good as a rest. So I've been told.

PatchworkElmer · 02/01/2019 07:54

I’m on the train in now- have a real sense of dread, which isn’t even related to this job- my old boss was a bully and I didn’t feel ‘safe’ at work in the 4 years I was there. I started this job 6 months ago and struggle to believe that it’s all ok.

... Also, I just CBA to go to work 😂

spiderplantsalad · 02/01/2019 07:56

I'm not back till the 7th but dreading it - I've developed a twitch. I'm expecting the return of an aggressive colleague who has form for throwing things and having tantrums - the last one was at me and the manager is hopeless

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 02/01/2019 07:56

I am going back tomorrow and dreading it. It's not that I hate my job but I hate working and really resent it. I love not having to get up and be somewhere. Every year I try desperately to win the lottery so I can quit but it hasn't happened yet Grin. I always feel so sad the first week of Jan after the christmas holiday but am usually resigned to the fact by the second week and sort of just get on with it.

abbsisspartacus · 02/01/2019 07:58

I just want to sleep if I'm honest but I've work now work tonight hospital tomorrow work Friday/ Saturday And drive dd back to uni Sunday (three hours drive there three hours back)

abbsisspartacus · 02/01/2019 07:59

The irony is I only work 21 hours a week but I'm a cleaner so it seems so much more than that I thought cutting my hours changing my job would give me more time in reality I think it's done the opposite

WheelyCoteClaus · 02/01/2019 08:00

Tommorrow is my return to work day.

I don't want to goooo!!!!!

anniehm · 02/01/2019 08:01

Me too, just procrastinating but it's because I work for a church and we have a funeral today and 4 more to organise who died over Christmas, not a great thing to come back to, I want some new babies and weddings!!!
