I made arrangements to see a friend today. She said she would be here after lunch. She isn't here and it is nearly 5!!

Cancel. You've waited in all day and she's taken the piss.

MrsSpenserGregson · 31/12/2018 17:02

"After lunch" means 2pm ish.

She's very rude.

diddl · 31/12/2018 17:05

I agree that you should cancel.

We had a late lunch today-3pm-I'd still have been there before her!

It is after lunch-but so is 10pm!

I mean where do you draw the line?

Yabbers · 31/12/2018 17:07

YABU for not getting a more firm time for her arrival.

Val87 · 31/12/2018 17:09

Yeah, I’d say it’s too late now.

mumisalliam · 31/12/2018 17:10

The world is full of selfish people
She sounds like one of them

Petalflowers · 31/12/2018 17:16

Yes, rude. After lunch is early afternoon, not evening.

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 31/12/2018 17:17

Situations like this is why I always set a time.

There is always one CF that will take the piss and arrive 5 hours later with no communication wasting your day.

TornFromTheInside · 31/12/2018 17:20

I would say after lunch is about 1.30 - 2.00ish.
Mid afternoon would be 2.00 - 4.00ish

She's been rude.

dustarr73 · 31/12/2018 17:23

@sayitisntsojo are you not annoyed at wasting a day waiting in.I would cancel.

sayitisntsojo · 31/12/2018 17:28

Tbh I am not feeling great so it hasn't been much bother watching tv! My DS is annoyed though so when they turned up and dropped one off at 5 I couldn't say no. We had thought they may all stay for a few drinks or something but not bothered, early night for us!

HollowTalk · 31/12/2018 17:28

Every time she does this you need to refuse to see her later on.

sackrifice · 31/12/2018 17:28

Say 'yeah sure' then all go out for the evening.

When she texts you say 'Oh I thought you were having a laugh, you wasted my day so we went out and did something more interesting than wait for you'.

sayitisntsojo · 31/12/2018 17:28

She is one of the worst people I know at keeping to arrangements though so I need to learn!

sackrifice · 31/12/2018 17:29

They dropped a child off?

gamerchick · 31/12/2018 17:31

They dropped a kid off?

Aridane · 31/12/2018 17:39

Yes, rude - and you should tell her so

sayitisntsojo · 31/12/2018 17:39

Yep, a kid has been dropped around for an hour or so. Happy New Year Hmm

OP posts:
sackrifice · 31/12/2018 17:41

Fucking hell, she saw you coming.

Are you her friend or her staff?

ResistanceIsNecessary · 31/12/2018 17:42

That's bloody rude.

I'd text her back and tell her to come and get her child as you aren't well.

Cheeky cow.

AWishForWingsThatWork · 31/12/2018 17:44

They dropped one off after all that time?!?

Wow.

Call them and tell them to come back and get their kid now.

hellojason · 31/12/2018 17:45

Please check in the mirror. I think you may have 'mug' written on your forehead!!!

LoudestRoar · 31/12/2018 17:49

Hope I'm wrong, but be prepared to have the kid round for more than an hour...

Flowersonthewall · 31/12/2018 17:52

Does she have other children? If not then you might just be in for an evening of babysitting!

sayitisntsojo · 31/12/2018 17:54

There is another kid who they tried to leave but she didn't want to stay!!
