Hi everyone, as a company we do not endorse, whatsoever, the actions taken by management of The Dorset yesterday, regarding the sign placed on the door.
We are fully committed to inclusivity and their actions should not reflect any part of us as a company.
I hope you can appreciate we have just come back from our own Christmas holidays to news of this event, and will look to put an official statement out later on today.
We do not run the pub directly as it is a tenanted house. Needless to say we are in touch with the licensees and disciplinary action is being taken against those involved. With kind regards, Harvey's Brewery.

They’re not just doing that though are they? They’re widely sharing it on social media, are contacting his employer to get him sacked and making threats. One of the posters on facebook was actively calling for people to ruin his life.

Any society where people live in fear of public denouncement that can ruin their lives with no trial and no crime being committed but just by having an opinion someone doesn’t like is an oppressive one. We are a modern society and really should be above this sort of extra judicial mob justice.

We don’t actually know what the landlord thinks of hunting. He has a pub in an area with and active hunt group and it would be business suicide to have done it the other way round.

I don’t agree with fox hunting and his sign was badly done but I can understand him not wanting to have troublemakers in his pub upsetting his regular customers on and there potentially being damage. It’s his livelihood.

I’ve hunted with a traditional pack (fox hounds) and a scent trail was followed. People really need to not be drawn into sab propaganda. This pub knows their audience and doesn’t want any trouble just like football matches and opposing teams. Many of my encounters with hunt saboteur has led me to believe that many are thugs who like to have a fight. I have known them come to blood hound and drag hunt meets to try cause trouble 😆.
