Upset with grandparents and Auntie

My parents, the kids grandparents looked after them Sunday 23rd while I finished wrapping presents and prepared food for all who were coming on Monday/ Xmas eve as I was working in the morning. My kids are 4 girl & 2 boy. They were there from 12pm - 6.30pm. When I collected them my dad said I was taking the p* because they had them so long and fed them lunch/tea. They had not seen them for approx a month. I know they find it tiring because they are boisterous and they feel they have to follow them if they go upstairs. Just had Boxing Day today with my family including my sister (who does not have kids). Their auntie who goes for months without seeing them. She has arranged to meet up with my mum and auntie afternoon tea on Saturday and she said I could come but I had to leave the kids at home. I am working 27th/28th. I have declined because I want to be with my kids on my day off. I feel very upset that my kids are seen as too noisy, boisterous and family don’t like spending time with them - am I being unreasonable?

Yet another OP who asks if they ABU, gets told that they are and then tries to explain why they aren't BU. Stop it OP!! YABU!! You asked if you were and told that you are. End of story!

Honestly, I don't think you need your kids looked after to do a food shop and prep food. How do you think any other family copes? They bring their kids along! Plus wrapping couldve been done when kids are in bed.

If this was your excuse for needing 6.5hours childcare, I'd have been a bit miffed also. You could have been honest and said you need a couple of hours to yourself, I'll be back at 2pm. You really need to arrange pick up times, for all you knew, your parents may have had plans.

I have a 3 year old and I shopped and wrapped whilst she was at Pre School or in bed. I don't have anyone to look after her and wouldn't ask if I did.
I even bought a couple of items without her knowing whilst we were out shopping a couple times.
I think 6.5 hours is too long, 2-3 hours would have been better.
My parents only see my children once a month or 6 weeks and never look after them either. They only live 25 min drive from here.

Yet another OP who asks if they ABU, gets told that they are and then tries to explain why they aren't BU exactly.
