Is it normal to buy yourself gifts and wrap them and put under tree?

Because my narcissist husband does this and it freaks me out.

Yes I do 🙈 single parent and DD is very concerned if I have nothing to open

I have this year - saved up all year to get myself a new laptop so wrapped it for today. Also wrapped up my new upgrade contract phone as it arrived yesterday lol. Just wanted a few bits to open with the kids that were more than token gifts (a single mum).

I think the reasons sound different though to OP.

Ummm.... I did this, this year. Saw a travel mug I liked and ordered a book off amazon. Knew DH was getting me some very small token gifts, and I thought it would be nice to have a couple more things to open.
I’ll probably do the same again next year.

If the dcs are aware of him ‘raging’ is he really suitable to be around them?

I do this. Generally i buy things in the sales and wrap them, knowing full well by next Christmas I will have no idea what I bought, so then I have a little surprise. Its because for years no one got me anything and it always made me sad.

Presents isn't your issue though. you need to leave him.
