Because they look proper shit?! I'm starting to twitch. He asked for one last year and didn't get one for the same reason. It was on his list to Santa with some other stuff. Have got all the other stuff...but he's just gone to bed mentioning that he really hopes he gets one this year ! Do I try and get one tomorrow?! Argh...

I would . My kids (7 & 8) have a few each and spend hours playing with them . He obviously wants one if he's asked two christmases running .

Ohheyyy · 23/12/2018 21:09

I also think they look like an absolute load of crap but if it's what he really wants then I can't see the harm in him getting one? Surely it's either that piece of plastic crap or a different piece of plastic crap.. Same old same old.

BettyOBarley · 23/12/2018 21:10

I agree they are shit (I'm saying this as someone who's DC has them on her list too) but personally I would get him one if it's been on his list for 2 years...

MaudebeGonne · 23/12/2018 21:10

They are proper shit. But my daughter loves hers and plays with it all the time. And I still remember with great bitterness the fact that I never, ever got a much wanted Girls World.

So yes, for a tenner, make his dreams come true and try not to cringe too hard at the rubbish it generates.

SoyDora · 23/12/2018 21:11

They are crap. But my 5 and 3 year olds love them and they do get a lot of play.

Heismyopendoor · 23/12/2018 21:11

Yes I would try and get him one.

Bubblysqueak · 23/12/2018 21:13

I think I'd have to try. But this comes from someone who rushed out to order something for ds who asked father Christmas for something yesterday which he hadn't asked for before but he asked so nicely and was so excited that he managed to ask him all by himself (he has Sen) that I had to try to get it for him (I'm hoping it arrives tomorrow!)

If you can afford it and you know it will make him happy I would (even if you think it's rubbish!)

MrsPworkingmummy · 23/12/2018 21:14

My daughter has asked for the LOL doll house. It wasn't on her list originally, but this is all she's going on about. I have bought her a LOL under wraps, but there's no way she's getting the house... It's all cheap tat in my opinion. X

Singlenotsingle · 23/12/2018 21:14

G'wan! You know you want to! Grin

TokyoSushi · 23/12/2018 21:14

They are utter crap, £10 for a tiny plastic doll, ludicrous!

DD (5) loves them more than life itself and plays with them for hours I have bought her 3 for Christmas

Mumofaprinny · 23/12/2018 21:14

My lilts girls absolutely loves them and has asked for more from santa, which have been bought and my son who is 7 also plays with them, so I would say get one or two and at least then you won’t be left feeling bad when he realizes, santa didn’t bring any.🙂

POP7777777 · 23/12/2018 21:14

They are shit, i agree, but I think you should try to get one. It would make him so happy. Smile

SatsumaFan · 23/12/2018 21:25

Oh no! I was hoping to avoid it but might have to nip to the local toy shop tomorrow when dh takes the kids swimming ! I have an almost 5yo ds too...should I get them one each for their stockings?

EmeraldShamrock · 23/12/2018 21:28

They do get lots or fun from such a small item. Yes get some tomorrow.

10PollyPockets · 23/12/2018 21:33

I would get them both one, they are shit but kids love them. Bless him if he's been asking a whole year, he really wants one! Smyths and the entertainer seem to always have stock but most shops keep them behind the counters now.

Cheerbear23 · 23/12/2018 21:33

Yeh, I’d just get him one. They’re not too bad once you get past the price. My DS has spent hours & hourdbplsying with them this year, and they are quite cute little things to look at!

Cheerbear23 · 23/12/2018 21:36

Urgh my typos - hopefully you get this gist! My DD has had hours of enjoyment from them .

Igottastartthinkingbee · 23/12/2018 21:36

I would, if he’s asked two years running he must be keen! And yes I’d probably cave and get one for the younger child too (unless you think that one won’t be at all interested).

10PollyPockets · 23/12/2018 21:37

For anyones kids asking for the expensive house here's what we did....she already had a dolls house and I ordered wallpaper samples and lol doll stickers from eBay and we decorated it to be a lol house together. She really loves it and anytime she has friends over they spend ages playing with it.

Teacupsandtoast · 23/12/2018 22:07

Tesco tomorrow, you'll get some there. Normal lol and then a baby sister, 15 quid, he'll be delighted. Please update, I'm getting that weird Christmassy feeling of knowing how delighted a child will be when they get what their heart desires for Christmas! X

Dieu · 23/12/2018 23:04

Unless completely skint, why on earth wouldn't you?!

SatsumaFan · 23/12/2018 23:22

Because he's already getting a shit tonne of Lego, books, Nerf, board games etc and I really wanted to avoid spending £10-£15 on faddy plastic tat that gets played with for five minutes then chucked under his bed (like Shopkins...) Dieu Grin

Our local independent toy shop has them under the counter, think they're about £10. So I'll get them one each and try not to cry about the £20.

Buy it!!

But I am the mum who bought my 3YO an enormous squishy toy that's like the love child of a stress ball and a dog toy!

SaucyJack · 23/12/2018 23:30

They are poor value for money, but if he’d rather have one small doll than a —better— larger game or toy, then why the heck not? It’s Christmas.
