Currently 4am where I am. Have had absolutely no sleep bar about 20 minutes an hour ago. A combination of:

Period pain
Coming off anxiety medication
DH arriving home from work Christmas do at 1am, and snoring, kicking and stealing the covers all night long (sleeping soundly may I add!!!!!)
Laying here silently seething because of the above

Have to be up at 6. Anyone else??

Was up til midnight with hysterical baby and then in the night with my ill toddler then the toddler woke up up for the day 45 minutes before my alarm at 5am.

NellyDElephant · 20/12/2018 06:09

I’ve been awake for hours too. My DH was sent to prison for two years, almost two weeks ago and I havent slept or eaten much since, horrible timing for me and kids just before Christmas. Don’t know what to do with myself without him, I miss him dreadfully. (A ‘white-collar’, non violent crime - if that affects how you consider him /me)

Redskyandrainbows67 · 20/12/2018 06:16

Nelly - does affect how I view him at all. To get put away for two years a crime has to have been pretty serious. He is only getting what he deserves.

Now I’m not judging you at all - you aren’t guilty. I feel sorry for you and the kids. Please start seeing him as the bad guy he is and stop excusing him in your head. Use your time awake to plan a better life for you and your children.

I’ve been awake 4 times tonight and currently can’t sleep because of vibrations from the road outside causing my bed to shake every time a car goes past - just crap hAving no sleep

Redskyandrainbows67 · 20/12/2018 06:16

Doesn’t

11 year old DS woke up an hour ago with croup. Very dramatic noises, poor boy Sad

Oddsocksforeveryone · 20/12/2018 06:34

Bed at 11 ,Baby and toddler have woken at least every 40 min until 3:30 When I had to bring baby downstairs and realised 9yo ds1 'cold' had put him in respiratory distress. Hes in hospital with DH waiting for an x-ray and baby has only let me have another 20 min sleep since they left.

Enigmam · 20/12/2018 06:44

I'm up constantly throughout the night. DH snores all the time and we also co sleep with DS13 months. Might nights are a constant battle of jabbing DH to get him to shut up and resettling DS who also gets woken up. I feel broken and to be honest, I don't know why I bother to go to bed in the first place.

Enigmam · 20/12/2018 06:45

*My nights not Might.

Greensleeves · 20/12/2018 06:45

@NellyDElephant Flowers I can't imagine how rough that must be for you. I hope it gets easier.

Still awake and still miserable here. The bin men have just been and ds1 is up and about now.

Oddsocksforeveryone · 20/12/2018 07:26

@Enigmam DH has moved to spare room mostly because of snoring, he snores like the devil and its so frickin loud I can hear when he falls asleep downstairs on sofa.
I've had another 10 min sleep now feeding baby (dc4) ds2 should be getting up soon and finding the tooth fairy brought him lego, ds1 had his x-ray and has chest infection. Just waiting for DH to ask them why he is behaving so strangely x

Could have done with seeing this thread early hours this morning when I was awake with my PGP and arthritis. Been up since 3 and now at the hospital for physio and monitoring.
This baby needs to get out!!!

Noonemournsthewicked · 20/12/2018 08:01

My works night out last night. Back at a respectable 9pm. Woke up at 1am. DW snoring her head off. Cats intermittently waking me up all night long and then dog started his waking up bark at 5.45am. Made DW deal with that one but he was back awake at 6.45am. So now I'm on holiday and up earlier than I was on a working day.
Good news is that I had my hangover at 1am and feel fine now.

sherrysfortea · 20/12/2018 10:26

Sorry that so many people had a rubbish night sleep. Haven't had insomnia for years it's torturous.

Finally managed a bit of sleep at about 5.30 (I think) lots of BrewBrewBrew for everyone today!

@Noonemournsthewicked I always struggle sleeping after a drink, especially once the drink has worn off, it's why I try to avoid it like the plague in the week but this time of year it's sometimes unavoidable

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 20/12/2018 19:12

ninecoronas · 20/12/2018 20:29

christmasisuponus hope it was good news.

NellyDElephant shit, that sounds so tough. I would be distraught too. Hope you get to see your DH soon.

brizzledrizzle · 20/12/2018 20:49

Tired out now but when I go to bed I'll be wide awake.

Oddsocksforeveryone · 24/12/2018 23:28

@Redsky sorry for late reply! Ds is fine, it was only a chest infection and he is doing much better. We all went down like dominoes and dc4 has been rather poorly and I was wiped oit so bad that DH did his first ever few nights solo (our kids are terrible sleepers) but we're all coming around. DH not had it yet
