To want dessert every night??

I have to have a little dessert every night after dinner...I have alpro hazelnut and chocolate, a few squares or Lindt or a small slice of cheesecake. It's not good but I just crave it! Any suggestions for low fat desserts...no fruit please!!! I want something goey and sweet!!

What am I thinking of ! I actually baked a banana last nivht for first time in my life as I had a sudden unexpected sweet craving. Stuffed dark cooking chocolate in the slot I had sliced (still in skin), wrapped in foil and 20ish mins later it was fantastic.

Mini trifles. Mini cheesecakes. Chocolate mousse. I don't have them after every meal, but I totally would if I weren't so fat already Grin

Couldn't give two tugs of a dead dog's cock whether people say "pudding", "dessert" or "afters". Bore off with your excruciating class-bound nonsense.

My absolute go to fave is baked banana (in its skin until it becomes black) scoop the banana out and put a few squares of chocolate in which melts so quickly and then serve with ice cream / vanilla yogurt (ice cream better) lush and one a day sorted with all the goodness a banana brings!

Kitkatbar - I don’t really have a sweet tooth so I guess that’s how I ah e spent several decades as an adult and just never done this. Saw it in a prog (over open fire) and remembered. It was DELICIOUS. I did want some ice cream - never have any in - not bought for years - this could get dangerous !

How has this descended into a petty discussion about class! Dessert or pudding, everyone knows what the OP means!

OP, if you want something low calorie you could freeze individual yoghurts? I do this, they taste lovely and take ages to eat!

Spiced stewed apple and custard or yoghurt. Alpro high protein yoghurt things with fruit at the bottom. Coconut Collaborative chocolate pots. Cold rice pud and apricot jam.

Yoghurt with slightly crystallised honey and sliced banana is glorious. I know it’s fruit but it’s something magical in this context.

I reckon grate the dark chocolate onto your yoghurt if you’re giving that a go.

And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a sweet thing (avoiding the vocabulary wars!!) every day. We sit down for coffee and cake every day in the afternoon and catch up on each other’s day. I reckon a marriage can go a long way on decent baking and a daily proper chat during which nobody is trying to spoon food into an errant 1 year old!

Also we’ve been doing this the 4 years we’ve been wed and it doesn’t appear to do us any harm. I’m biased but I think we look great, and seem to be fit and healthy, both at the lighter end of healthy BMI and can comfortably hold our own running (me) or cycling (him). Eat food you love, be satisfied, and move your body in ways that make you happy, I think.

I know you said no fruit but stewed apples or plums are delicious and not the same as just eating a piece of fruit. Make into crumble, and/or serve with ice cream or creme fraiche. Stewed fruit and creme fraiche feels like a decent dessert but is not too calorific.

Sometimes I just have a hot chocolate with mini marshmallows Blush

FWIW, in Australia ‘pudding’ refers to moist, runny kinds of sweet treats. We call the after-dinner course ‘dessert’.

I recommend tiny snack-size choc bars of your choice, OP (only one, of course) or M&Ms in an egg cup to control portion size.
