I have to have a little dessert every night after dinner...I have alpro hazelnut and chocolate, a few squares or Lindt or a small slice of cheesecake. It's not good but I just crave it! Any suggestions for low fat desserts...no fruit please!!! I want something goey and sweet!!

Have you tried cutting down the salt in your main?

That is maybe why you are craving something sweet after.

Want2bSupermum · 16/12/2018 21:20

Sliced bananas and whipped cream.

ViragoKnows · 16/12/2018 21:21

jelly!! I had forgotten about jelly!

Grin
spideysense · 16/12/2018 21:22

Never mind read the full thread, people haven't even read the full original post!!! Stating no fruit!!!!

Have you tried natural yoghurt and dark chocolate, yum!

MilkyCuppa · 16/12/2018 21:22

It's not pudding it's dessert.
Pudding is a type of cake.
Dessert is a generic term to describe a sweet after dinner course.

No, Pudding is the generic term for a sweet course. Dessert is what you call Pudding if you’re common.

ViragoKnows · 16/12/2018 21:23

And don't even get me started on people who call dinner 'tea'

Thise people are the working classes 😏 What’ve you got against them?

WineAndTiramisu · 16/12/2018 21:23

Homemade rice pudding

I leave the sugar out and put jam in afterwards Grin

Also chocolate mousse or sorbet

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 16/12/2018 21:24

Yanbu.

I have it every day as well. I like muller rice at the moment, or the generic supermarket brand. I can recommend the new Muller corner as well, the gingerbread one. It's delicious.

I don't work for Muller, btw! I also like ice cream, other yoghurt, like quark, fruit (sometimes with that sweet freedom choc shot on it), sometimes a hot chocolate or Horlicks.

chillimartini · 16/12/2018 21:24

@spideysense yoghurt and dark chocolate sounds lovely! Would you cut the chocolate up into tiny pieces or semi melt?

OP posts:
Bobswife39 · 16/12/2018 21:25

We have jelly, yoghurts (muller corner are good) Cadbury trifles, DH likes the little pots of profiteroles. I quite like petit filous as they aren't too big, the chocolate and vanilla ones are good for puds xx

spideysense · 16/12/2018 21:32

@chillimartini I've tried both ways 😏 broken into pieces was better than melting, I didn't semi melt actually I totally melted, so semi melted may be nicer 😋

I use Yeo valley - unflavoured natural yoghurt and Lindt 80% dark chocolate - they are both flavours you need to get used to but surprisingly delicious, I am a major chocoholic, addicted to sugar and anything sweet and this definitely hits the spot!

spideysense · 16/12/2018 21:32

@MilkyCuppa dessert is common? I thought that was posh 🙄😂

PostmanBos · 16/12/2018 21:34

Mince pies

chillimartini · 16/12/2018 21:34

@spideysense thanks! I will be trying tomorrow:-)

Ohyesiam · 16/12/2018 21:36

Banana custard

WonderTweek · 16/12/2018 21:39

I don't know if ice cream is low fat (probably not Grin) but I'd recommend it. I'm weird and have a Cornetto pretty much every night after tea. I don't really eat other sweet treats so I don't feel guilty for it, and I bloody love a double chocolate Cornetto. Xmas SmileThe best thing is that I'm completely satisfied and won't be left craving anything. It's the perfect dessert! (I'm quite famous for my love of Cornettos at work. Lol.)

spideysense · 16/12/2018 21:40

@chillimartini please update with the outcome 😁

greendale17 · 16/12/2018 21:43

@MilkyCuppa

I think you will find that pudding is common and chavvy

OP, have you tried to Oppo ice cream? I love the salted caramel one. Lower in calories than normal ice cream 😋

TinkerSpy · 16/12/2018 21:47

@Polarbearflavour is right. It's pudding. "What we having for pud?"

Dessert is a restaurant menu.

Milky bar mousses, put them in the freezer. Take out half an hour before you want it and serve with a microwaved (for about 15 seconds!) fibre one bar or brownie - the fibre one bars are lower cal! Whole dessert is under 200 cals.

Ollivander84 · 16/12/2018 21:51

Meringue and berries - add squirty cream and sweet freedom choc sauce Wink
Jelly and custard
Rice pudding mini pots
Muller corner salted caramel cheesecake corners are the absolute dream - I'm addicted!

Bagadverts · 16/12/2018 21:51

How about bread and honey (I’ve just had some) for the thing after a main meal.

HeronLanyon · 16/12/2018 21:52

Yoghurt with cocoa mixed in and into freezer for as long as you can resist (10/15 mins firms it up a bit). Simplest after dinner sweet dish (other than fruit etc) I do.
