To have just binned a bar of chocolate?

Not a shitty bar of dairy milk but a hotel chocolat slab thing containing 5 million calories. I broke it up and crumbled it in the bin so that I couldn't retrieve it when dc are in bed later Blush

I considered re-gifting but I know that if I hadn't binned it then it would be in me by the end of tonight and I'm trying to lose weight.

I'm the worst person ever aren't I?

I can think of a million worse things you could have done.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 16/12/2018 17:13

??? No! Sensible idea. You could have given it to the food bank next time you were at the supermarket, but I’m like you and wouldn’t have enough restraint for that.

Petalflowers · 16/12/2018 17:14

Good,on you for being strict.

I’ve thrown icecream in the outside bin beforemwhen dcs have been playing up.

Starbright6 · 16/12/2018 17:14

No you’re not! Although wish you could have teleported it over here instead 😋

Treaclepie19 · 16/12/2018 17:14

YABU. Chocolate is for eating only!

CrimsonCloverHoney · 16/12/2018 17:16

Grin believe me I don't usually have such willpower and I'll be pining for the chocolatey goodness later. I'm just not the kind of person who can keep chocolate in the house - advent calendars are a struggle!

Birdsgottafly · 16/12/2018 17:20

Was there no neighbour that you could have given it to?

It's a sin to bin Hotel Chocolate stuff.

Oblomov18 · 16/12/2018 17:21

Why? Why did you bin it? Seems a waste. Where did it come from? A gift? Seems odd.

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 16/12/2018 17:31

Should have taken it to a food bank if you have that little self control. What a waste.

Angry
CrimsonCloverHoney · 16/12/2018 17:36

I binned it because I don't want to see it on my arse and thighs in the new year. It is a waste but I have zero control!

OP posts:
ScreamingValenta · 16/12/2018 17:37

It's done now, but you could have put it in the freezer to stop yourself eating it and then given it away tomorrow.

However, if it's not something you need to eat, it's no more wasted being thrown away than it would be by you eating it, so no reason to feel bad about putting it in the bin.

catmon · 16/12/2018 17:39

Don't listen to the do-gooders Hmmzzz
I've chucked stuff before, it's the only way and you'll feel so much better tomorrow
Good luck with your weight loss Smile

80sMum · 16/12/2018 17:39

How did it get into your house in the first place?!

NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound · 16/12/2018 17:41

You did what you needed too, I wish I had the ability to have done the same

Neptunesgiraffe · 16/12/2018 17:43

YANBU at all. I ate a pack of 6 of their chocolates earlier. They were supposed to be part of a present. The other gifts are currently in the boot of the car as I may be greedy, but it's too cold to go out and retrieve them. I'll be posting them first thing tomorrow.

BestestBrownies · 16/12/2018 17:52

Hotel Chocolat is absolutely rank now anyway. Tastes just as soapy as all the other cheap chocolate but still costs £££

picklemebaubles · 16/12/2018 17:54

Next time you find yourself in that situation, gift wrap it. Give it to a neighbour, or tell a friend that you will give it to them tomorrow. That may help you resist.

Personally I'd just eat it. But that's me!

Oysterbabe · 16/12/2018 17:59

I couldn't have binned it. I'd have gone for a walk and posted it through a letterbox of a neighbour or something.

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 16/12/2018 17:59

It's just as much of a waste if you eat it than if you bin it. Good on you for having willpower.

Wifeofapostie · 16/12/2018 18:13

What a waste, have you that little will power? Wrap it up and gift it on next time!

Aprilsinparis · 16/12/2018 18:16

You are bloody brilliant.

Icklepup · 16/12/2018 18:20

What a waste! You should have gifted it.

StuntNun · 16/12/2018 18:27

Absolutely not being unreasonable. It's wasted whether it goes in the bin or whether you eat it when you weren't really hungry. If it's that tempting to you though, I would wonder whether you're insulin resistant and it's your blood glucose dropping and making you crave sugar. Have you ever thought about trying the 5:2 diet or low carb/keto?

68Anon · 16/12/2018 18:29

OMG, binning chocolate, that is sacrilege!
