And I really want to go and help the animals but I know they wouldn't let me anyway!
People are important too but the poor animals must be so so stressed!
AIBU to want them to escape :(

They must have had one big donation because when I went on they had 12 donors and had raised 43k Smile

ClosdesMouches · 16/12/2018 16:43

You must have looked at the number of 'fundraisers' Brizzle
Currently they have had 4942 individual donations, total £87,643.00.

MrsJayy · 16/12/2018 16:54

I thinkchester zoo is a registered charity perhaps the money will go to that?

QuilliamCakespeare · 16/12/2018 17:34

@IShitChristmasGlitter The second photo is the treehouse area visitors walk through near the orangutans, unfortunately. It was mostly timber and had little displays with camping equipment etc.

mydogisthebest · 16/12/2018 17:36

I gave on the just giving page. So sad to read about the fire and that not all the animals could be saved. The keepers must be devastated.

The donations total £94,129 now

trumptrump · 16/12/2018 17:42

An example of how Chester Zoo house their prisoners

TinselandToblerones · 16/12/2018 17:44

That’s not a true representation of the giraffe enclosure as you probably well know, assuming this is your picture.

KathrynOfArrogance · 16/12/2018 17:51

THIS is how the giraffes live at chester zoo

It is not my picture. I saw it on Twitter.

How lovely that the giraffes are occasionally allowed outside though. I bet they just love the British weather! If not, I suppose they could just pop a jumper on!

woodwaj · 16/12/2018 17:58

Actual giraffe area. And the door is open unless there is reason for it not to be!

IShitChristmasGlitter · 16/12/2018 18:02

oh fuck off trumptrump the giraffe enclosure is fantastic. Typical spouting off shite you know nothing about! Chester zoo is a fantastic zoo and do alot for conservation and rehabilitation in the wild.

NotACleverName · 16/12/2018 18:02

Oh, piss off trumptrump. The giraffe enclosure is massive.

OnTrain · 16/12/2018 18:02

trump the handful of giraffes in this enclosure, who were born there btw. Are a representative of the conservation work the zoo are doing out in their natural origin

Lovemusic33 · 16/12/2018 18:05

The giraffes were born in the uk, they are used to ‘british weather’, they are a part of a breeding programme like most zoo animals, they have lots of room and are not locked up all day in cages.

OnTrain · 16/12/2018 18:06

Choose any animal in that zoo and there will be a conservation effort undertaken. All of these animals are well looked after and are there to highlight how we as the public can help their wild counterparts

TinselandToblerones · 16/12/2018 18:08

So you plucked a picture off the internet and decided to use it to criticise a bloody brilliant zoo.

brizzledrizzle · 16/12/2018 18:12

Trumptrump seems to have a very apt user name.

IShitChristmasGlitter · 16/12/2018 18:13

KathrynOfArrogance · 16/12/2018 18:17

That is the Giraffes bedroom enclosure they need the fencing on it by law i would imagine it is regulation fencing but i guess if you are copying off twitter it is from a like mined person but Chester Zoo is not like a prison.

CatLadyToddlerMother · 16/12/2018 18:25

I'm sure the gorilla and other monkey bedroom enclosures are similar and there's videos on YouTube of them climbing between the "rooms" and having a jolly old time. If they were unhappy/caged up they'd surely not be running round the enclosure.

brizzledrizzle · 16/12/2018 18:32

@kathrynofarrogance great minds Grin
I like your username.

Hushabyelullaby · 16/12/2018 18:50

Oh thank goodness the animals are ok, although their home is devastated Sad

trump trump, go away and educate yourself on Chester zoo before you assume.

@KathrynOfArrogance @Loopylou6 I'm 10 miles away too, so am near-ish to you both!

Just seen KathrynOfArrogance that you're from the plane place, I'm in the same county just up the road on a hill!

Enthymeme · 16/12/2018 19:07

Do you think they will thrive better if they escape?
