Just curious as to if you got yours from DWP (PIP etc). When? And what amazing thing you bought with it? Grin
Mine came yesterday and I bought electric and gas top ups, chocolate and painkillers.

Cool story bro, but what about the question everyone asked you?

Samcro · 15/12/2018 00:35

Oh Real fucking life.......thats how.........end off

Womantheonlykind · 15/12/2018 00:35

£10 since 1972 apparently, be you could get quite a lot more for a tenner in '72!

And now no more bonus Sad

GimmeGimmeHellYeah · 15/12/2018 00:36

Edwin is a carer?
Shucks, send me your Paypal, bb, and I'll send over yer tenner. Happy Christmas.

Ginandsonicscrewdriver · 15/12/2018 00:38

Ewits, Gina g Grin

TwistedStitch · 15/12/2018 00:38

The carers on this thread are caring for their loved ones 24/7. They can't also hold down a job and the people they are caring for tend to live with them, not several hundred miles away. I know that you are now trying to deflect from how utterly obnoxious you have been by making out that you are also a carer but I would hope you recognise that it isn't quite the same.

GimmeGimmeHellYeah · 15/12/2018 00:39

Apparently £10 in 1972 would be the equivalent of £92.25 today.

EwItsAHooman · 15/12/2018 00:39

To claim Carers Allowance for looking after a qualifying disabled person you must spend a minimum of 35hrs per week, every week, caring for that person.

Tiredmumno1 · 15/12/2018 00:39

Gina G it is then Xmas Wink

Tiredmumno1 · 15/12/2018 00:41

I am a carer 24/7 and it's bloody hard work, just like many others on here.

gluteustothemaximus · 15/12/2018 00:42

I think this is being scrapped Sad

I read a case recently where a single mum had been moved over to UC and she was looking forward to her £10 bonus so she could buy little treats for Christmas. Not anymore though.

Motoko · 15/12/2018 00:42

£92.25? Wow, we could almost afford Edwin's cheese and wine if we got that!

edwinbear · 15/12/2018 00:42

As I said - reported for bullying.

www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-1633409/Historic-inflation-calculator-value-money-changed-1900.html

According to this calculator, £10 from 1972 would be the equivalent of £134.64 today.

www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy/inflation/inflation-calculator

According to BofE calculator, £10 from 1972 would be the equivalent of £125.44 in 2017.

Wow.

Tiredmumno1 · 15/12/2018 00:46

Edwin I really think you are missing the point, you in fact came on here to poke at people more vulnerable than yourself, I hope you feel proud of yourself, no one is bullying you and you know it, you know exactly what you are doing, but you keep telling yourself otherwise.

As a PP said, have a word with yourself.

TwistedStitch · 15/12/2018 00:46

Being called out on your awfulness isn't bullying Edwin. I can understand why you would like this thread to go though, it isn't a good look for you. And you never did answer what gives you the right to tell other people what they can spend their money on. I personally think a disabled child getting enjoyment from a panto is a far better use of money than expensive cheese but there we go. Different values I guess.

EwItsAHooman · 15/12/2018 00:47

You were asked some harmless questions about the rationale behind your, for, sanctimonious remarks. If you can't justify your comments then you shouldn't be making them.

Mummylife2018 · 15/12/2018 00:53

@onefootinthegrave Good luck x
FYI - I've had a PIP decision overturned by a MR. I've also been to a tribunal. The tribunal was actually very friendly and independent. Three doctors in a room at a solicitors office. Very nice people and made me feel very comfortable. No judgement whatsoever. They found in my favour x

ExcitedForChristmas18 · 15/12/2018 00:55

Please can everyone just completely ignore the vile comments on here, from the start of this thread there have been quite a few. I struggle to read them and I'm a disabled 30 year old woman. I can't imagine how it feels for the carers on here of extremely sick children. They want us to bite.
A lady posted before that she was going to get a Nutella croissant and hazelnut hot chocolate, and that is exactly what my £10 will go on..Im going to enjoy every single bit of it 😊
I'm taking the positives from this thread..the majority of people on here seem very compassionate for the disabled / carers..and that makes my heart warm ❤

Mummylife2018 · 15/12/2018 00:59

@MycatsaPirate They don't consider cars in their questioning only mobility aids such as walking stick/wheelchair/scooter etc. Are you sure you answered correctly?

This image shows the only two descriptors they use for the mobility element of PIP (roughly the same for DLA)

£10 Christmas bonus.
Mummylife2018 · 15/12/2018 01:00

@MycatsaPirate
You need 12 points for high rate mobility. No mention of whether you need a car or not?

£10 Christmas bonus.

I’m meant to get the £10 bonus but have only had it once in a decade. They wrote to me a few years ago saying they’d noticed their error so I would be getting all past payments in one. Was dead excited thinking I was about to get £90 just before Christmas. I got £10. Never mind, an extra tenner was still good.

I’ll not get it this year again!

But my DH has just received his £200+ extra carers from the Scottish government which was a massive surprise. No doubt that money will piss off a lot of people. Xmas Grin

SimplySteve · 15/12/2018 01:05

SimpySteve if you’d read my response to a 5wPP mum with a suspected prolapse (do you know what that is?) I think you’ll understand I’ve earned my stripes here. Have you?

Haha, so condescending. Just so you know, before I became a £10 stealing cripple, many years ago I studied medicine. Unlike you, I have no need to consider the merit of my posts here.

As to why I doubt you're female, your posts are reminiscent of what I see on various, male dominated, boards especially on a Friday/Saturday night. Clear wind-up material, of which I congratulate you on your success.
