Hard lump in armpit

Hi everyone.
I hope everyone is well.
I'm writing to see if anyone has been in a similar situation to me.
About 12 days ago I was in the shower & found a lump in my armpit.
It's deep in my armpit & I can only feel it when I put my arm down.
It feels hard, round & when I press it,it's seems to slip from under my fingers.
I am breastfeeding at the moment.
I have seen my GP about the lump & have been referred urgently for an ultra sound so understandably I'm feeling very stressed & anxious.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
Much love
Laura x

Hi Lozzie82,

I'm so please you got sorted. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that's all mine is. I have an appointment on Monday, I'm just worried as is hard and no pain unless a play with it. I keep looking at the kids and crying and google it which I know makes you more paranoid

Cantusethatname · 02/01/2019 17:45

I have no medical qualifications at all but I had one of these come up when breastfeeding 20 years ago and it still comes up and down, gets a bit bigger and sometimes a bit tender when I am ill or before period, but is always there. You should of course get yours checked.

Lozzie82 · 02/01/2019 18:00

THAT is exactly what I did - Dr google almost sent me mad - Mine was hard & wasn't painful so please don't think that's a definite sign of something bad.
I kept looking at my children crying, thinking up all sorts of scenarios so I know exactly what you are going through.
Monday is very soon to get it that's really lucky :) like I said my wait was 6 weeks which I just couldn't do - Was the GP reassuring? Xx

bubchucky · 02/01/2019 18:18

I'm going to stop using google and try and get through the next few days without crying. Thanks for talking to me, my husband just keeps telling me I will be fine but I am a natural worrier.

bubchucky · 02/01/2019 18:21

The GP was so matter of fact saying it could be a cyst or a node or more serious, she put me on a 2 week referral, she did say is was movable, whatever that means xxx

Lozzie82 · 02/01/2019 18:30

Arrrr no worries anytime,I was in your position 2 weeks ago & know 100% how you feel so always here for a chat.
I was on 2 week pathway but my appt is 20/1/19.
They are so busy here.
I worry if there's nothing to worry about.
Moveable=good but I'm obviously no medical expert.
The next few days will be tough but you'll do it I guarantee you :-) chin up xxx

bubchucky · 02/01/2019 19:03

Thank you xxx

bubchucky · 03/01/2019 17:16

Hi it's me again,

I forgot to ask, has your lump gone now? Xx

Lozzie82 · 03/01/2019 18:10

The lump is still there I am wondering if it's always been there but I've just never noticed it.
The consultant I saw said it's meant to be there & the reason I can feel it is that it's close to the surface - I have one the other side he said it's just deeper in xx

bubchucky · 03/01/2019 18:29

Thanks for replying. The reason I'm asking is mine seems smaller today, I thought it was just my imagination but my husband thinks the same, I hope that's a good sign as I'm pooing myself at the min xx

Lozzie82 · 03/01/2019 19:25

That's good news hopefully it is smaller - My friend came over the other day she has one too - exactly same as mine & has had it over 3 years with no change to it I even felt it EXACTLY like mine.
Try not to touch it though - this I know is VERY hard as I touched mine like 1000 times a day (rolls eyes) you don't want to irritate it or make it sore then it get bigger & cause you worry.
Will be thinking of you Monday xx

bubchucky · 03/01/2019 20:02

Really! I have got everything crossed I will be ok (I'm still crying when I stop and think about it) and yes I am touching it a 1000 times a day 🙄.
Thanks again for talking xxx

Lozzie82 · 03/01/2019 20:14

No problem I've felt like you & really needed to talk to people 2 weeks ago so I know how it feels & think important to help people where you can even just to share experiences talking to people about it helps relieve some of the stress.
If it has helped you out at all it's worth it.
Xx

bubchucky · 09/01/2019 11:19

Hi, sorry I meant to write this on Monday.

All went well at my appointment, it was just a cyst, which can go bigger and smaller.

Panic over 😊 thanks for helping me through it xx

Lozzie82 · 12/01/2019 04:28

Fabulous news - told you ;-) xx

Peachesandcream30 · 12/01/2019 08:19

I had it too, had a total meltdown... It went away on its own before I even made it to my doctor's appointment! Oh gosh I lost my mind so I know how you're feeling but mine was nothing and I'm sure yours isn't either! Also I had it again once after, didn't freak out so much but it took longer to go away that time (either that or I just noticed earlier), although it did in the end.
