It's had some good reviews some really bad-mostly about clothes. So though I'd try it out spent about £25 on some okay looking stuff. Anyone bought stuff from them is it just a massive con or just miss and match somes good somes bad kind of thing.
This is what happens when I don't sleep!

I’ve had a few fantastic dresses from wish, but also some really bad ones! Buy the biggest size and only trust buyers photos.

Most of the stuff that was bad was only bad as it was too small

TheHobbitMum · 11/12/2018 07:33

I've never been disappointed by wish to be honest, I don't buy clothing much although I've bought a few pieces for the kids by buying ladies.
I find it's easy to get a refund if the item isn't up to scratch anyway so you should be fine.

If it's Christmas gifts you've bought they probably won't arrive in time though as it's a few weeks delivery usually

weleasewoderick22 · 11/12/2018 09:29

They charge p&p but it still takes forever to get here! I go for AliExpress every time because they have free shipping. That takes ages to get here too, but at least I'm not paying for the privilege.

Bezalelle · 11/12/2018 12:48

Such a nightmare for the planet! All that plastic and air-miles.

Alabasterangel6 · 11/12/2018 12:53

I use wish but not for clothes. The kawaii stationery is mostly absolutely fab - my DD (10) loves it and it’s a massive improvement on the smiggle shite. We’ve had really lovely post it notes, pens, pencil cases, sticker sheets and notebooks. Postage is always good - items arrive in around 10 days usually so you do need to factor that it.

CSIblonde · 11/12/2018 16:30

I've bought cheap cat toys (pay shipping only, 8 feather toys in a pack), really lovely set of 3 large wall pics ('naice' leaf prints) for £9. The amazing 'sleep in' fabric hair rollers to get natural waves were £5, ( £35 elsewhere) . The cardigan I bought was dire tho, it looked size 6 & i ordered medium to large: & it was so thin it was see thru. Check the reviews re size & quality:I forgot to on the cardigan.

Osirus · 12/12/2018 01:01

I signed up, read reviews and then immediately deleted my account. There must have been 2 good reviews in a sea of absolutely awful ones.

As mentioned above, it’s terrible for the environment. The cheap clothes industry is every bit as harmful to our planet as the mountains of plastic tat that Wish is trying to expel from China.

I hope that in years to come retailers like Wish (and the cheap tat King that is Poundland) are shut down.

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 12/12/2018 01:32

Most of the stuff I've got from Wish has been pretty good, and super cheap. You do have to be prepared to wait for it though. If I've had any issues they are very quick to refund. There is a lot of tat on there, its very much buyer beware, but there's lots of good stuff too.

Birdshitbridgegotme · 12/12/2018 01:44

I've brought so much stuff from wish so far I haven't been disappointed. I've got hoodies (go for much bigger) kids clothes, loads of gel nail polished ect ect never had any problems.....only thing that annoys me is waiting so long but when it comes you have normally forgotten all that you have got so it's like Xmas opening it!

Kisskiss · 12/12/2018 02:43

Try aliexpress ( they have an app) similar idea, probably same suppliers but things are cheaper..
as each supplier is different, only buy from the ones with good reviews of the product you are getting..

Suziepoozie · 12/12/2018 07:26

I got a really really beautiful evening dress - really well made. Size XXL. It fits my six year old perfectly so...

Neverunderfed · 12/12/2018 07:33

You'd have to turn a really blind eye to use them

Avegemitesandwich · 12/12/2018 07:36

There is such a contradiction going on at the moment, with people virtue signalling about the planet going to hell and how awful it all is, whilst companies like Wish, who sell nothing but plastic shite and ship it thousands of kilmoteres, are doing really well.

ThisTooShallPassInTime · 12/12/2018 07:42

Their jewellery is mostly excellent!
I spent £25 and now have a fantastic mix of 15 pieces. I’ve never ordered clothes.

BalthazarImpresario · 12/12/2018 07:44

I've used them, only things are long delivery times (but for the price that's OK) and clothing is very small.

bonniebanks · 12/12/2018 07:47

I ordered 3 things a while ago, nothing too pricy just wanted to see what it was like, only 2 came and by the time I realised the third hadn't it was apparently too late to get my money back so I got wish cash that didn't even cover what I had bought which I didn't think was very fair but I couldn't work out how to actually contact them so I just gave up and deleted my account.

cathy87 · 12/12/2018 07:53

I ordered one thing from Wish last year and nothing since. A couple of months ago I noticed a charge from them for £250 for a smartphone I never ordered! I could easily have missed it as I had other similar charges coming out at the time. I did some research and it seems this scam happens a lot. I hadn’t given them permission to store my card details. I ended up having to cancel my card - be careful! I’ll never use Wish again.

bookmum08 · 12/12/2018 07:56

Unless you live in the middle of nowhere or have a genuine reason that you can't get out the house then just go to an actual shop. There are plenty of excellent retailers that sell 'cheap' products. The Works is fantastic for novelty stationery and little toys. The Entertainer does a kawaii style range of stationery. If you want 'cheap' then please support the retailers we have in the UK who are struggling and also you know the products you buy will be safety checked unlike this random stuff made in who knows where by who knows who and containing who knows what.

MakeLemonade · 12/12/2018 07:56

Yep this thread is depressing. How do people justify buying this cheap shit that has such a negative impact on the planet?

Really makes me think of this article on consumption by George Monbiot.

There’s nothing they need, nothing they don’t own already, nothing they even want. So you buy them a solar-powered waving queen; a belly button brush; a silver-plated ice cream tub holder; a “hilarious” inflatable zimmer frame; a confection of plastic and electronics called Terry the Swearing Turtle; or – and somehow I find this significant – a Scratch Off World wall map.

They seem amusing on the first day of Christmas, daft on the second, embarrassing on the third. By the twelfth they’re in landfill. For thirty seconds of dubious entertainment, or a hedonic stimulus that lasts no longer than a nicotine hit, we commission the use of materials whose impacts will ramify for generations.

JustMarriedAndLovingIt · 12/12/2018 07:58

Definitely hit and miss. Got 3 dressing gowns for my wedding morning and three ‘bride’ ones turned up! To be fair they did send out the bridesmaid ones when I asked. Also, check scales on the photos. My husband ordered something and it was about a quarter of the size!

Binglebong · 12/12/2018 08:04

Some good some bad. Try to buy things where you can look at buyer photos - some will say it is great (why?!) but the picture shows it isn't. But you can get some really nice stuff- theres a necklace I've not seen elsewhere and always get complimented on.

Lovemusic33 · 12/12/2018 08:09

I have bought things in there several times, usually takes 2-3 weeks to arrive, never ordered clothes due to people telling me to avoid but have bought other bits and pieces and all has been ok.

IfNotNowBernard · 12/12/2018 08:09

All good quality especially for the price, except for one £3 dress which for some reason was awful, thin, nylon fabric.

No shit. Is that a joke?

flamingofridays · 12/12/2018 08:11

I think comments on this thread arent helpful when it comes to saving the planet. Op didnt ask about the ecological impact of her purchase. I get the point, it is important and i do try and avoid plastic etc but i dont want to be force fed information on it on every thread.

BehemothPullsThePeasantsPlough · 12/12/2018 08:28

I’m on board with the general disapproval of buying useless gimmicky stuff for the sake of it, but from an environment POV I’m not sure why people are choosing to lay blanket disapproval on Wish. Whether you buy a plastic colander for twenty quid from John Lewis or fifty pence from Ali Express/Wish then it will still have been manufactured in China and shipped half way around the world. Air-miles obviously will be nil.

The problem lies when a) you’re tempted by tiny prices to buy useless tat or b) the stuff you buy is unsafe or unuseable. A stainless steel straw will do the job wherever you buy it from but a pair of cheap sunglasses or a phone charger may not.
