Ladyflump...I'm sorry to hear about your mum and your poorly grandma x I know that feeling of being touched out; still breastfeeding baby and I absolutely get that, I think you have summed who I am up perfectly by stating who you feel you are- currently an overtired, stressed out middle aged mum.
Kelly, I am also only getting short stretches of sleep due to waking baby add on top of it wicked PMT, I have definitely lost my shit this week on one occasion and like you, feel permanently on the edge of doing it again and again. With raging hormones, I just seem to lurch from one rant to another this week.

Lavenderdays · 14/12/2018 11:55

jess, you sound lovely and very wise, unfortunately, we don't have a lovely role model like you in our lives but what you describe is how I intend to be when I am older with my own children x

FaFoutis · 14/12/2018 12:14

Now what I do is try to ensure less hardship for the next generation
Oh to have just one parent or in-law who thinks like this.

Lavenderdays · 14/12/2018 13:03

Yes, FaFoutis we don't have a single one like this either; I can get quite bitter about it if I let myself, especially as I had wonderful grandparents who were always there for us, so I try not to think about it and try to take pride from the fact that I have to be very independent (whether I like it or not!)

Sakura7 · 14/12/2018 13:09

Totally agree OP. You have to wonder how we got here and why as a society we buy into this system that makes us go through life as good little worker bees almost until we drop. We badly need a better work life balance as a society.

FaFoutis · 14/12/2018 13:12

I try to think of it that way, but it's difficult when I'm so exhausted that I can't enjoy anything about my life.
My grandparents were lovely too. My parents and in-laws got lots of support from their parents. None of this has been passed on.
Christmas is a grim time for having to deal with detached and selfish parents.

Lavenderdays · 14/12/2018 14:01

FaFoutis, I could have written your last post; sympathies x

FeatherStrong · 14/12/2018 18:41

I'm sorry, but it's actually super knowing I'm not alone with the repetitive drudgery of it all.

About to deep clean a fking messy house that was immaculate few days ago. It's bleak!

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 21/12/2018 11:07

After poring over the instructions, we did it.

After the bin men came, I had to go out in the pouring rain to scrub and disinfect it.

Ta. Da.

to be f***ing sick of it?
WTFIsAGleepglorp · 30/12/2018 20:24

Gaaaah!

Just went out to put some recycling and some CUNT has managed to unlock the rubbish bin and fill it completely.

This will be the fourth time I won't be able to get rid of my rubbish.

CUNT CUNT CUNT CUNT CUNT CUNT CUNT CUNT

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 31/12/2018 14:38

I emptied the bin onto the pavement.

Re-wrapped all the rubbish into rubble sacks and clean bin bags, compressing as much of it down as much as I could, got my rubbish and it's balanced on top with the bin lid open.

I've bleached the pavement and cleaned the front windowsills.

I'm on the prowl now for a personal attack alarm to booby trap the bin.

Matters weren't helped when I looked out the back door to find my oh so classy neighbours had smashed a beer bottle over the fence, into my yard.

Pictures later.

WhatOnEarthDoIDoNow · 31/12/2018 15:05

Sick of it all here today, came down with the flu and norovirus at the same time and feel like absolute crap.

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 31/12/2018 16:52

I've had norovirus already.

This season's dose is appalling! Xmas Shock
