I think with that length tan ankle boots would make your legs look stumpy, so black boots and black tights would look better.

Personally I prefer tan boots and black tights with an above the knee skirt.

dontticklethetoad · 08/12/2018 18:45

Agree with Curls I'm afraid.

Strongmummy · 08/12/2018 18:46

Depends on your body shape, but gut feel, no

ChristianGreysAnatomy · 08/12/2018 18:46

Personally I wouldn’t - the orange and the tan will argue with each other, won’t they? Black heels, in my opinion.

kittypop · 08/12/2018 18:52

What do you all think of the dress? I've got suede knee high black boots I could wear - would that go? I'm quite tall.

Letthenamesbegin · 08/12/2018 18:53

It’s a nice dress but it’s an annoying length for boots

ChristianGreysAnatomy · 08/12/2018 18:54

I hate animal print usually, and I don’t much like next, but actually I really like the dress! Boots sound good.

dontticklethetoad · 08/12/2018 18:58

Sorry, I'd still say no. I don't like the length of the dress TBH.

kittypop · 08/12/2018 18:58

I've got black block heel ankle boots as well - I agree it's an annoying length but as I'm tall I'm always worried dresses will be too short. I might take up a couple of inches?

Hate the dress, and definitely no to ankle boots w/ a long dress.

I think it looks a bit frumpy?

CurlsLDN · 08/12/2018 21:40

Personally I don't like the dress, but if you do then wear it, be confident and look awesome (but I stand by the black boots for the length!)

SammySays · 08/12/2018 21:45

No boots will go with that dress. It would need a delicate heel imo.

Noodella18 · 08/12/2018 21:45

It’s a nice dress! And I think below the knee will work if you’re tall, but I’m not sure about the knee length boots (would it look funny if they overlap...?) Black tights and shoes best I think.

Hannnnnnnxo · 08/12/2018 21:49

I think if you want to wear the tan boots with the dress, you’d be better off wearing sheer black tights rather than opaque black tights as it will look nicer. In fact at that length, would you even need tights? A classy, long coat on whilst you’re outside should suffice.

It depends on what your pairs of boots are like but I agree that the tan ones don’t suit the dress very well. I’m an ankle boot girl, and I wouldn’t wear them with that dress. Court heels or sandals would look better. Even white trainers if it’s a casual occasion

Hannnnnnnxo · 08/12/2018 21:50

Heeled sandals*

Jaimx86 · 08/12/2018 21:52

If you’re buying the dress in size 6 or 8, I think you can wear boots. If not I think you need heeled shoes to add height.

kittypop · 09/12/2018 00:55

might post a photo when it arrives for better opinions.

halfwitpicker · 09/12/2018 00:58

The model is wearing black kitten heels which looks good.

Whataboutbobbo · 09/12/2018 06:53

Not a boots dress I don't think. Shoes would look better.

yoyo1234 · 09/12/2018 07:49

Not sure tan ankle boots and black tights go with much. Black knee high boots or black shoes and natural tights ( if you want the warmth of tights). Sorry, really do not like the dress seems dated.

MereDintofPandiculation · 09/12/2018 08:39

The model is wearing black kitten heels which looks good Those aren't kitten heels, surely?

XiCi · 09/12/2018 08:49

Black tights and tan boots are a big no no.

The style and length of the dress does not really lend itself to boots. If I were dead set on wearing them I think the only type you could get away with would be a very short / shoe boot style with a stilleto heel and bare legs. Is there any reason why you won't wear shoes like the model in the photo?

PurpleDaisies · 09/12/2018 08:53

Black tights and tan boots are a big no no.

I think they look nice together. Personal taste.

I don’t like that dress at all, sorry.

Bluesheep8 · 09/12/2018 08:54

Honestly? I don't like the dress. It's too Orange imo. That aside, I can't bring myself to ever wear black and tan together anyway, even though they might look good. For cultural reasons.

kittypop · 09/12/2018 10:03

Having second thoughts on the dress - will see what it looks like when it turns up. Might need to go to plan B - it's for an afternoon birthday party so not very dressy - I was looking for something I could maybe wear to work as well.
