What side is your hand soap ?

AIBU or is it a bit control freaky to move someone hand soap? A friend came round for a coffee and used the downstairs toilet. When I used it later on, I noticed the hand soap was on the wrong side.

I have an antibac pump hand soap, nothing fancy, but very easy to use, doesn't need picking up to operate. I have it on on the left, but she moved it the right hand side- this is weird behaviour right ?

Right I've had a G&T too to hurry the needing the toilet thing along. It turns out I do a magnificent one handed pump and collect of the liquid soap all with my left hand. My right hand operates the mixer tap, that being my dominate hand. But I was thinking about it, so I don't know if this is true natural result

I've investigated towel placement and all towels are to the right, soap on the left ... what does it all mean ?

I'm slightly concerned by people not sticking to the same side on all sinks.

@hohohobags I don't know why I have it the other way around nor why my hand towels match the soap location side. You need to set up a soap camera to see if there's something you do subconsciously with your left and right hand. I appear to pump the soap with the hand that's on the side of the soap. So left to left, right to right depending on what room and all my taps are mixers. Maybe I'm just a sheep who follows!

We have a choice of on the window ledge on the right or on the floor so I am spared the sleepless nights this would obviously cause me. Must dash, I have paint to watch drying, I am so over-worked!

In the middle. On the side is unbalanced.

On left and im right handed .. maybe shes left handed or maybe she keeps her soap on the right and it felt weird to her so she moved it

I’m right handed and I think it’s because you push down with your left hand and put the soap into your right palm. Obvious!

So the soap goes on the left. Is your friend left handed OP?

Mine is on the right but that's because the sink has a little indent and drainage channel for the soap to sit in (I use soap not liquid soap).

All of ours are where they are because of taps/space. I have so thoroughly confused myself about where I’d put it if the tap was in the middle and the space each side was the same. I need a drink now 🤣

On the left on all three sinks. I'm right handed. Also use one hand, the left, to pump and collect soap.

Re your friend. It’s rude to deliberately place it the other side, but we don’t know she did that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Give her the benefit of the doubt this time. Invite her around again soon, give her LOTS to drink, force bathroom use upon her, then see if she does it again. If she does, definitely confront her CFerdness.

Main bathroom it's in the middle. Toilet it's on both sides....

Standard blue nasty stuff dh likes is on the right, my nice hand wash and hand lotion is on the left :)

I have never thought about it, but I have 3 bathrooms/toilets and a kitchen sink and all are on the left.

Strange as I didn't deliberately think about putting them on the left, but they would absolutely look weird on the right

Hand soap on the left, towel hanging on sink and then hand lotion on the right. To me that's the correct placement because that's the order you use them in? Wash, dry, lotion. 1, 2, 3. Easy?

On the left and I'm left handed. Central mixer tap and sink is flat-topped. Right hand side is reserved for mug of tea and ashtray during morning bath.

This is totally something I would be outraged about 😁. My tap is on the right and the liquid soap is also on the right sitting helpfully next to the tap. It would be wrong if someone moved it to the left! I do a press with my left and capture with my right 😌.

This thread is a blessing and a gift. I have pondered this very issue recently. I want to say left, I know it's 'wrong', but how come it feels so good?
