To think dh is perverse...?

He made DS a peanut butter sandwich and put a thick layer of butter on the bread first

It's not just me is it? That's weird to the point of perversity. What kind of freak would do that?

DS very sensibly refused to have anything to do with said sandwich. I was cross at the waste but not at DS.

Utter filth.

Bobswife39 · 06/12/2018 23:39

I always butter first and I'm not a freak 😁

Travis1 · 06/12/2018 23:39

Yabu. If your husband was to come on here I’d recommend he see a lawyer

e1y1 · 06/12/2018 23:40

Yanbu - who on Earth needs an extra layer of grease???

These are the same people who put butter on when having mayo or salad cream Envy

e1y1 · 06/12/2018 23:43

Oh I'm backpedaling, I will on occasion have butter on toast with jam or marmalade, as the saltiness of the butter mixes nicely, and always butter, NEVER margarine - won't have that in the house.

GabsAlot · 06/12/2018 23:47

whats wrong with cheese and butter?

Threefaries · 06/12/2018 23:47

It needs a layer of butter first because it helps with the spreading.
I like peanut butter sandwiches with raspberry jam in them too.

Oysterbabe · 06/12/2018 23:49

Most things are improved with the addition of butter.

Peanut butter is too dry without butter.

Iloveautumnleaves · 06/12/2018 23:53

I’d bury you under the patio & marry your DH. Your DS would soon understand the importance of butter on the bread first ‍🤷🏻‍♀️

bluecanoeforyou · 06/12/2018 23:54

Urgh, LTB

DramaAlpaca · 06/12/2018 23:56

You need butter otherwise the peanut butter sticks to the roof of your mouth.

wafflyversatile · 06/12/2018 23:57

If you are having a sandwich or toast you put butter on it. No ifs, no buts.

Besides peanut butter is too claggy on it's own.

trulybadlydeeply · 06/12/2018 23:59

My thoughts and prayers are with you, OP.

1MillionSelfiesTakenByMyKids · 07/12/2018 00:01

If it's vital to understanding the situation fully it's smooth peanut butter, but the naice stuff. Whole Earth. Bought in a kg tub Blush we eat a lot of the stuff.

Tbf DS is a weirdo also Adam he likes jam on bread with no butter and i see that as just as much of a travesty as peanut butter butter sarnies.

DD, meanwhile, but rarely countenances bread at all. Picky beggars.

I think it may depend on the peanut butter.I like crunchy non oily peanut butter, like Meridian. For this you need butter as otherwise it would be inedible.
If you find the oil in oil yucky then you need to change your peanut butter imo.

seventhgonickname · 07/12/2018 00:08

Also the peanut butter I buy does not have salt (100%peanuts)so also needs the saltiness of the butter. You also require less peanut butter.

PiningForTheFjords · 07/12/2018 00:10

Butter needed first. Obvs.

JaneJeffer · 07/12/2018 00:15

Butter first, then peanut butter, then blackcurrant jam. I might go and make one right now.

StoppinBy · 07/12/2018 00:18

I only use smooth peanut butter - hate crunchy - and it's too tacky to spread without ripping holes in your bread without a thin layer of butter first. It's also tacky to eat without butter.

Surely no one want ripped up sandwiches?

PyongyangKipperbang · 07/12/2018 00:40

Thick layer of butter, thick layer of PB, good sprinkle of salt.

Surely there is no other way?

GaryBaldbiscuit · 07/12/2018 00:40

lovely, you just have to have butter, with peanut butter.

GaryBaldbiscuit · 07/12/2018 00:41

ooh, blackcurrent jam, sounds delicious

Flapjackninja · 07/12/2018 00:45

Butter before Nutella is that acceptable?? Blush
