From the memories of my youth it’s great and was just sitting with my glass of wine thinking about how a spliff might be a nice replacement treat from time to time

The only problem with this kind of generally harmless recreational drug use is that you have to be so careful now with driving as it can show up on swabs days later and mean that you could end up losing your driving liscence if you get tested for any reason.

Mokepon · 06/12/2018 21:40

Oh Hoopaloop, that's sad.
And probably what I would do GrinXmas EnvyGrinXmas BiscuitXmas Envy

Wordthe · 06/12/2018 21:42

@Bent, I understand they had problems in Canada with ascertaining the appropriate legal limit for driving after they legalised

ClashCityRocker · 06/12/2018 21:44

wonders if vaping would solve the cotton mouth issue

Wordthe · 06/12/2018 21:48

Hmm, I don't know, I'm not sure what you mean by cottonmouth
I don't think I get it when I use cannabis

Hoopaloop · 06/12/2018 21:50

Course, I did the fucking rookie mistake of thinking ‘this cake is shit’ and ate the lot. 45 mins later, I had to be scraped off the ceiling

Made that mistake before too. I ate a handful of cake once that my brought with her at a wedding reception. After I'd managed to unmelt out of my chair, I got serious munches and tore into the buffet something terrible. I probably ate close to a kilo of cheese, no biscuits.

Wordthe · 06/12/2018 21:55

if trying cannabis for the first time it is always better to smoke or vape then you can have a tiny amount and see how you feel

using edibles is a very different kettle of fish you need to be careful and find out how they affect you first

FlyingUnicorn1 · 06/12/2018 21:57

YANBU. I miss it too but on the last couple of odd occasions I smoked it I got really bad paranoia so it's put me off.

Maybe when I'm older and retired I'll have nothing to be paranoid about 😁

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 06/12/2018 21:59

I probably ate close to a kilo of cheese, no biscuits

I just spat wine over my iPad. That wouldn’t have happened if I was smoking a spliff.

www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cotton%20mouth

Sorry for the urban dictionary link. Colgate also had an article on it but I couldn't get the link to work.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 06/12/2018 22:01

YANBU

LuckyDiamond · 06/12/2018 22:01

It’s something I haven’t done for over 20 years. I’d like to again, but wouldn’t in case I had the same result as Hoopaloop.

Wordthe · 06/12/2018 22:06

@Clash thanks I should have searched for it myself!

no I have never had anything like cotton mouth.
Some people do find that it triggers anxiety, obviously if that happens it's not for you.

Hoopaloop · 06/12/2018 22:09

Eating it is haram. Especially when you think nothing is happening then it creeps up on you 2 hours later then before you know it all you can say is hnnnnnnuuuuhrghh

LBOCS2 · 06/12/2018 22:12

😂😂😂 that's why I don't eat it.

DH and I partake occasionally - one spliff on a Friday night. A tiny amount really unwinds him which is good as he has quite a high stress job, but although I used to smoke a lot in my youth I actually think I prefer wine nowadays.

JustABetterPlayer · 06/12/2018 22:15

Try hollowing out then filling a Cadbury’s Creme egg with SOLID, the crunchiness is vile but it’s hilarity for the next 24hours. Oh to be young again...

Wordthe · 06/12/2018 22:15

I've never been good with drink even a tiny amount makes me feel absolutely dreadful the next day 🤨

Wordthe · 06/12/2018 22:16

My children are grown up and left home
I'm old and carefree 😁

hotstepper4 · 06/12/2018 22:18

Occasionally is fine, but my brop smokes it every day and it's turned him into a nasty, paranoid arsehole.

1moreRep · 06/12/2018 22:19

YABU

have you ever seen a cannabis farm and the human trafficking / exploitation that goes hand in hand with it?

Children dealing being criminally exploited?

Vietnamese cannabis farms where illegal immigrants are forced to work in squalor?

it's not harmless, it's an illegal drug which needs to be grown, dealt and typically funds organised crime

Hoopaloop · 06/12/2018 22:24

Nah, you just don't buy it from those sorts of people. It's not difficult.

Also, filling a creme egg with solids and eating it 😭🙆‍♀️😭

Arrivederci · 06/12/2018 22:34

Awww @Hoopaloop that feeling is just awful isn't it! Starts off with one small doubt then spirals

Oopsusernamealreadytaken · 06/12/2018 22:41

I too think it will be legalised soon. OH uses it instead of the cocktail of prescription drugs he was on before for chronic pain.

I ate some once and nearly died (well thought I did 😂). Not a fan

Branleuse · 06/12/2018 22:45

Prefer edibles myself. My lungs could never cope with smoking or vaping

LBOCS2 · 06/12/2018 22:48

Mine's grown in my mate's airing cupboard, so I don't really feel like I'm exploiting anyone by buying it, tbh.

Growing up a friend of mine's dad had it growing in his garden. I mean, I'm not denying that there's a criminal network relating to any sort of drug use but this is probably one of the easiest you can get hold of 'ethically'.
