£40 on a cheesecake??!

AIBU to be willing to pay this for a cheesecake all for myself at Christmas?? I have slices often and it’s genuinely the best thing I’ve ever tasted (I have a massive sweet tooth). It’s baked by a boutique Italian bakery near me - bit overpriced but so is everything in the area. I didn’t expect it to be that much and it sounds ridiculous but.... I’m tempted!

I’ll be spending Christmas alone (my choice) as DP goes to in-laws and I’ll be eating poached Salmon and potatoes (my fav meal) but means I won’t be going all-out with turkey/stuffing/alcohol etc (I don’t drink).

Should I treat myself??? Grin

Do it! I bought a whole red velvet cake from a cafe locally last Christmas- cost £40 but it's one of the best cakes I've ever tasted. I ate my own body weight and STILL had cake to offer people when they stopped in.

Grudgingly, mind you. Grin

If it's handmade then you're paying for the quality & skill behind it.

I hate quoting for people who then proceed to tell me how much cheaper they can buy stuff in Tesco Hmm

That’s a bloody big cake. I think you would struggle to do the second half justice.

But YANBU to treat yourself.

I need to know more about the cheesecake... Flavour, texture, type etc
