Without being too outing, I need to look awesome at a Christmas do, like ‘I don’t give a flying fuck about you, you tosser’ Good. but I’m a size 22, 5ft 4, my assets are my boobs and arms (which aren’t as bingo wing as they could be! My nightmare is my middle. I basically need a crash diet. But I have 12 days. So I need a killer dress/ trousers and top combo? I have darn brown shoulder length hair. Are you similar shape? What makes you feel awesome?
Please help me! I’m so shit at dressing up. I normally go for leggings and a tunic top.
Ps I know iambu for posting here but no one even replies on the others. HELP!!!

Thank you all so Much! So brilliant to have some ideas! @simplyput you are so right, I’m so busy being mum I do not look after myself.

Oooo I love the studio 8 one, do you think I can pull it off? What shoes?

OP posts:
Laiste · 02/12/2018 21:10

What height heels can you handle OP?

Feefeetrixabelle · 02/12/2018 21:10

Always a wrap dress with a killer bra. With the twins on display properly no one is looking at your waist.

Fruitbatdancer · 02/12/2018 21:14

@feefeetricabelle that would be ideal! Any good bra recommendations, I need to step away from m&s twin pack!

The studio eight one would be more flattering than some of the others. Sleeves look classier. Nice heels but not so high you’re uncomfortable as that’s not a good look. Lovely glossy hair, lovely sparkly eyes ( the eyes rather than glittery eyeshadow) a good lips and a dazzling smile.

Fruitbatdancer · 02/12/2018 21:15

@laiste 6/7 cm? Feel more comfortable with a strap to “hold me in”

Bravissimo are the best for larger over the shoulder boulder holders.

QuestionableMouse · 02/12/2018 21:20

I have a corset that I only bring out on very special occasions. It nips everything in and pushes your boobs up. They're surprisingly comfortable as long as it fits properly.

Nacreous · 02/12/2018 21:21

I like the phase 8 one a lot! I reckon it would look fab :)

Foamybanana93 · 02/12/2018 21:25

Pretty little thing plus have some beautiful stuff online that look amazing Grin

diddl · 02/12/2018 21:30

I would say for goodness sake make sure that you feel comfortable.

"Tosser" won't give a fuck.

Laiste · 02/12/2018 21:33

Oh those Next one's might be a bit high.

Foamybanana93 · 02/12/2018 21:33

I love this 😍

It's a MN cliche but Scarlett and Jo and this one is perfect for a Christmas party without being too extra www.scarlettandjo.com/collections/going-out/products/lurex-sweetheart-fairytale-dress?variant=9678448295983

Ilovelblue · 02/12/2018 21:35

As a previous poster has said, I would enlist the help of a personal shopper. John Lewis, House of Fraser and Debenhams all do them. If you're now short on time, it would take some of the stress out of it. Good luck!

nancybelle · 02/12/2018 21:39

I am a similar shape to you and bought this recently. It is pretty generously cut so you can go down a size www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/blacksilver-asymmetric-top/wv987/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=8015#colour:Black%20Silver,size:

I wore it with coated treggings from H&M which have a sort of leather trouser look about them and then killer heels www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0661306005.html

You can dress it up or down and will definitely be comfortable

starandson · 02/12/2018 21:41

Something sparkly and a pair of big heels. I like statement trousers and wrap tops.
Maybe treat yourself to getting your nails or make-up done before you go?

cricketmum84 · 02/12/2018 21:43

Ooh what about this??

I've had a couple of Scarlett and Jo dressed and they are a very flattering fit. Plus this one would seriously show off the girls 😘

cricketmum84 · 02/12/2018 21:44

@JudasPrudy snap!! I've just posted same dress 😂

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 02/12/2018 21:50

i am a size 20 / 22 and my most noticed outfit is a mustard yellow with white polka dots jumpsuit with wide legs, it was a cheap buy off shein and a real gamble i fully expected to look awful in it but i liked it, felt good in it and the day i wore it no less than 5 people stopped me to say how nice i looked and a random photographer asked to take my photo!!! so after my poorly disguised stealth boast i would say go and try a jumpsuit Grin

HippoLatte · 02/12/2018 22:10

I bought a few dresses this past few weeks and this one is my favourite, www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/black-lace-skater-wrap-dress/jp173/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=8015#colour:Black,size:

The picture doesn't really do it justice, it sits beautifully and nips in just about the waist then skims out over my belly. I'm a size 20 and 5'5 so not far off you. Really nice fit at the boobs too and a good length for me just above the knee although I'd prefer an extra inch but you being a bit shorter it would be perfect on you.

A skater dress is my go to as it suits my shape the best (same as you, good boobs but big tummy) usually with a V neck.
