To cringe at the cutesy act?

Probably IABU, but...

I work for a big, engineering type company. Male dominated, but do have many senior women, the CEO is female also.

I'm hot desking in a different department today and I'm sat next to two women, who are both around 30. Although they're both very nice, I cannot stand the cutesy act (I hope it's an act).

As soon as any men come into the vicinity, their voices immediately go high pitched and incessant giggling ensues. I can't get away with the "What does that word mean?", "that's a big word", "OMG Germany is in the EU?" and other inane comments and I've been gritting my teeth all day. Surely this is an act? But I really can't see the benefit of such an act? AIBU to think they're setting women back decades??

Am loving this thread simply because it exposes the huge misconceptions that emerge in a seemingly educated society.

My cousin recently got an outraged phone call from her daughter, "Why did you never teach me that ducks could fly?" Daughter is over 30 with a law degree and a very responsible position. Praying that some of the examples here similar.

God loves the stupid. That's why he made so many of them.

I, very embarrasingly, thought until about 5 years ago that a hagis was an animal... I promise my voice is quite normal around men though!

YABU to think that a degree is an indicator of sense or intelligence. Some of my pgce cohort certainly lacked one or both of the above.

@WinterfellWench

"Someone thought dinosaurs were endangered animals?

I think someone was taking the piss out of you @justhereforthepoostories

NO-ONE is that dumb."

My cousin thinks dinosaurs never existed that they're just a myth. Yeah...I'm thrilled to be related to...that.

Well freak her out by telling her that dinosaurs are all around her. They're even in her garden. Birds are dinosaurs. Not just descended from them, not just related to them, but actual living therapod dinosaurs.
