YANBU, but she's attractive and very clever at making the most of what she has.

I like some of her songs, even though her voice is nothing special. She seems to put on a good show in her concerts, and if that involves some auto tuning and support from backing singers, that seems fine to me, as long as people enjoy the performance.

Grilledaubergines · 29/11/2018 00:29

Not a great singer, but a great entertainer.

empmalswa · 29/11/2018 00:38

Do you see her in Hyde park a couple of months back? She was amazing.

Koalablue · 29/11/2018 00:48

I think shes definitely more an entertainer than a singer.
Would be worth seeing her in concert.

AGHHHH · 29/11/2018 01:22

I love her music but yeah, really nasally voice.

Petalflowers · 29/11/2018 01:50

I think her voice has changed. I used to quite like it.

However, her recent Nashville songs were very nasally, and she hasn’t sounded the same since.we felt she was struggling on Michael McIntyre also.

SheilaBruce · 29/11/2018 03:13

It's taken you all 30 years to realise this?

maddiemookins16mum · 29/11/2018 06:21

She’s never been a great singer, most if us knew that 30 years ago. That said, she’s fab. Bono is another one with not a great voice (now anyway) but fronts one of the most successful bands in history.

pictish · 29/11/2018 06:28

Kylie Minogue has a horrible ‘singing’ voice and always has. I’ve no doubt she can hold a tune...but only in a bucket really. She’s certainly no notable vocal talent to speak of. She looks the biz and that’s all.

I think her limited vocal ability has always been obvious.

MarinaMarinara · 29/11/2018 06:32

I’ve seen her live - 100% worth the money. She isn’t the singer of the century. However, she can sing perfectly well enough, has an incredible stage presence and a very experienced creative team. All that means she puts on a fabulous show that is totally worth seeing.

BellMcEnd · 29/11/2018 06:32

My brother has worked with her loads and says she’s absolutely bloody lovely and he’s very un star struck by anyone.

To the pp who said that Bananarama can’t sing: how very dare you!!! Grin

gamerwidow · 29/11/2018 06:36

It’s not about having the best voice it’s about having the whole package. Madonna and Britney aren’t great singers either but they know how to put on a show.

GaryBaldbiscuit · 29/11/2018 06:46

she can sing better than me, she can hit the high notes. she is a god

madcatladyforever · 29/11/2018 06:47

She doesn't have a great voice but she does put on a really good show.

Ithinkthatsenough · 29/11/2018 06:48

Agreed

Shmithecat · 29/11/2018 06:50

I saw her in concert quite a while ago, on her Fever tour - she was FAB!!!! No, not the best singer (a lot of Australians always sound really nasal...), but she gives a really good show. I wouldn't see her again as I'm not keen on the direction her music has taken but if you do like it, you'll love her concerts.

Rhiannon13 · 29/11/2018 06:58

AIBU to think that at this stage of her career it really doesn't matter? She obviously has something!

LellyMcKelly · 29/11/2018 07:06

Lovely woman but singing voice like a chipmunk.

Safeandwarm · 29/11/2018 07:15

That’s not the point of kylie

longwayoff · 29/11/2018 07:22

Doesn't matter does it? She's had 30 years of a mega successful career and has millions of adoring fans. Another successful 'non-singer' was Cilla, nasal, voice like a foghorn. I wouldn't willingly listen to either but am, clearly, wrong.

Juells · 29/11/2018 07:44

Let's see if we can find some male singers to dump on Grin

I've no interest in Kylie, but find it odd that in this thread so many successful female performers are dismissed, with very little mention/criticism of males. :(

Faultymain5 · 29/11/2018 07:47

You’re being unreasonable to have not noticed it for the last 30 years.Grin

I still love Kylie though. Not enough to pay money to see her live, but love her.

flumpybear · 29/11/2018 08:54

@Juells - thisnisnt about sexism this is about it being able to sing .... like Cliff Richard maybe Wink

HowlsMovingBungalow · 29/11/2018 08:58

Rod Stewarts new release is just bloody awful, as is Cliff Richards. They really should stop recording.

longwayoff · 29/11/2018 09:07

As we're looking for equality, I was subjected to a few minutes of Cliff's new offering the other morning on tv. It was alarming. A 75? Year old man, clad in black leather, gurning and er, gyrating to record number 104. Not good.
