Not sure if I should prepare myself to be flamed 😉but I'm ready for it either way.

Is it the norm nowadays to thank your OH for doing a household chore? I work from home, so did a few hours yesterday evening, went down after finishing into the kithen, DH had put the washing machine on and washed some dishes, he wanted me to thank him and appreciate what he had done!!!!! Where is the appreciation for all the work that I do, the list is endless!!! Just wanted a RANT 😐😐

Maybe you should announce that you've bought sanpro for him if he thinks that washing his own things is a favour? Grin

I don't thank DH for doing his regular chores but do if he goes above and beyond as he does me. So if he does a job that I usually do I might say I appreciate it, or does something that's been on our list for ages. Sometimes I tell him I appreciate him in general as he is a good, kind man who takes his responsibilities seriously and gets on with housework and parenting. It shouldn't be worthy of comment of course.

We do thank each other for any cooking or drinks though even if it's their turn, it just seems good manners as one of us is actually presenting the other with something.
