The dreaded toilet dream

Hands up, who’s had it, how much damage occurred? and do you find it happens when you feel particularly anxious or is it strictly random?

Never had this but my anxiety dreams all revolve around trying to run away/to somewhere and my legs not working. Sometime mixed in with not being able to get somewhere to pick up the kids.

"Same here. Dying for a pee but all the toilets I find are full to brim and gross, or have no privacy. I always wake up needing a pee. Also have the telephone dream where it's an emergency but I just can't get the numbers right. What's going on? Why do so many of us have the same dreams? It's very reassuring though."

I have both those too. I also assumed the first type are to stop you actually peeing and you wake up and go to the loo. I'm surprised the phone one is common though. Mysterious.

I am laying in bed thinking i'm in the loo but i'm really in bed-on the one hand so cozy and don't want to get up but on the other hand the edges of my brain realise I am still in bed so should NOT wee!!!

The dirty toilet dream! I can't believe it's so common! I often have a dream that I'm in a huge, dirty room with loads of toilets, but they're all dirty / broken and no cubicles, just toilets right next to each other, men, women, everyone in there together. There's never any loo roll and quite often I'm naked. Shudder.

I did it a couple of years ago woke myself up had peed a bit but it was sort of trapped then I went to get out of bed and peed on DH

I haven't had such a dream, but if I had I certainly wouldn't be telling everyone about it.

I have the toilet dream quite often, I'm desperate for a wee and racing around to find a toilet, always loads of them around but none I can use either because the cubicle is only 2 inches wide or because the toilet is 6 feet from the ground, or they are gross or there are no doors etc.

In a pretty mortifying dream recently I was staying at my dad's house (except it wasn't his actual house it was in a slightly different place and had lots of strange rooms). I went to have a bath, got undressed by the bathroom door and walked around a corner into the bathroom only to discover that the entire front of the bathroom was a huge glass window looking out across a busy roundabout in the city and I was stood there in full view of all and sundry completely starkers.

So interesting to read about the dirty toilet dreams and that this is potentially stopping people from having accidents!
My toilet dreams are all public/open toilets like they had in Ancient Rome, about 10 people in one room. No accidents there.

However... I've twice had a dream where I'm pregnant and my waters break, and I wake up as I start to wee myself. Both times the sensation woke me up straight away so only a small puddle and both times in a bed that wasn't mine

I have these as well! Had no idea it was a thing. I had a particularly vivid one a couple of weeks ago where there were loads of toilets but they all had different things wrong with them, I woke up quite upset

I have the telephone dream with number not working.

I haven't yet pissed the bed. I don't have dirty toilets. I have toilet dreams where I'm desperate to go, in some strange public building. I take ages to find the loo (bad directions). Finally find the loo and it's all open plan, on a corridor, with hundreds of people walking by.

I also have a dream where there's a big house I'm going to live in. And it's got a ridiculous amount of baths in it!

I have all these dreams quite frequent.

Not only are all the loos manky in my dreams but they are just in an open room with people around and I am usually naked. Get the can't dial the number on the phone one too and just started a new one where I can't use the camera controls.

Thank god it's not only me, it happens at least twice a week, I'm convinced one day I will wee the bed

Does anyone get driving ones? Quite often I dream I’ve driving but I can’t reach the pedals or I’m in the passenger seat

I often get either that the car won't move and I'm trying to kind of push it along like you would a child's ride on toy, or that it's going out of control and the brakes don't work, usually when I'm heading for something like a huge river. Those ones always wake me up.

Gross and dirty toilet dreams - I thought it was just me. Obviously it's pretty common.

I’ve has similar dreams, often when in the dream I’m about to need to catch a bus or something. Usually they are locked so can’t get to them or need to go some complicated route to get to them like up lifts, down stairs etc. Not usually dirty but some aren’t private enough to use.

Always wake up in time.

What happens is I dream I need a massive constipated dump that's going to take ages and the only toilet is one in the open air right on the high street. The fear of sitting there is so great I wake up before I pee the bed. Thanks brain!

Driving dreams, yes. I’m usually driving from the back of the car. Seems to work absolutely fine, although in the dream I have a sneaking feeling it may not be entirely legal.
