Today I saw this

Vaginal bleaching is the latest ‘trend’ aimed at making women feel insecure

I despair. I really do.

Utter nonsense

It’s time even for young women to take a stance

I think most decent men couldn’t give a toss to be honest.

I am early 40s and don’t even wax. Who the fuck can be bothered.

Candlelights2345 · 22/11/2018 07:07

Bleaching your chuff was bad enough - fanjo - no way! My legs clamped shut at the thought of it.
100% bring back the Bush!

kmc1111 · 22/11/2018 07:09

It’s not actually a bleaching treatment, it’s either a gentle peel or laser treatment for pigmentation. Basically the same as you might get for facial pigmentation. Scrotum ‘bleaching’ is a thing is well.

Some people’s skin tones are prone to getting very dark patches of pigmentation in areas like underarms, inner thighs and genitals. For some it looks much more like some kind of skin condition or a large birth mark than just a natural darkening. If it bothers a person what’s the harm in non-invasive treatment?

donajimena · 22/11/2018 07:10

I'm cheering on the bring back the bush campaign! In fact I'm growing a pom pom down there in support Grin

Candlelights2345 · 22/11/2018 07:11

Nope kmc1111 still don’t fsncy getting my fanny skin lasers or peeled to make it ‘look nicer’. It’s not a display piece, it serves its purpose as is!

PookieDo · 22/11/2018 07:12

I have this kind of skin that’s pigmented and all inside my inner thighs it has gone really dark - you can see it if I wore a swimsuit. I also have it on my face! It’s possible not everyone is a raving fanny bleaching loony and some people may feel really insecure about it

WitchyMcWitchface · 22/11/2018 07:25

Aaaaah. I have noticed this on some people. I can understand wanting to remove that if it's non invasive treatment.

Birdie6 · 22/11/2018 07:29

I'm a nurse - I've seen more men's penises than you've had hot dinners. They come in a vast array of shapes, sizes AND colours ......and yet men all think their penises are wonderful ! So why don't they bleach their manhood I wonder ? Maybe because nobody is trying to make them feel ashamed of themselves for being abnormal . Women need to band together and reject this crap - it's getting ridiculous.

PetiteMamaNoel · 22/11/2018 07:35

Why do some women do this? Just be yourself and you'll attract the right mate.

PetiteMamaNoel · 22/11/2018 07:37

some people may feel really insecure about it

There's really no need to. If you weren't made to feel rubbish about your "flaws", you wouldn't want to change.

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 22/11/2018 07:43

Wow. No. This is horrifying.

BunsOfAnarchy · 22/11/2018 07:44

All jokes aside, its actually really disturbing to me that all these treatments are pretty much aiming for your vagina to resemble a pre-pubescent one.

No. Just no no FUCK NO

PabloTescobar · 22/11/2018 08:12

Fuck that.

KeepServingTheDrinks · 22/11/2018 08:21

In the shave/not shave debate, it seems that MN is pretty split between those who do and those who don't.

Reading the above comments, most who are anti-bleaching except maybe a couple of posters probably don't.

It follows if you don't already shave that area, you're probably not going to bleach it.

Be interesting to know what people who do shave there think?

NotAnotherParkingFine · 22/11/2018 08:28

I suppose I should feel insecure about my genital area - I don't bleach it, deodorise it, disinfect it, douch it, wax it, immac it etc etc. I just wash it gently every day and leave it in peace. Maybe I'm not doing being a woman right, but I'm 55 now and unlikely to change. Do young women really get het up about such things?

Fairylea · 22/11/2018 08:29

I am a shaver - everything off- and I wouldn’t dream of doing this. Shaving like I do, with a women’s razor in the shower with shaving gel, isn’t anywhere near the same as putting BLEACH down there! I’d be worried I’d give myself cancer or something.

KeepServingTheDrinks · 22/11/2018 08:49

But Fairy when hair removal there first became a 'thing' it was talked about in tones of horror and some amusement. Now it's mainstream....

Fairylea · 22/11/2018 08:58

Yep I get that. But bleaching is harsh chemicals near your private bits, I can’t see how that can be good for anyone. People have been using soap for centuries, shower gel is just an extension of that. Not everyone that shaves uses wax or even shaving foams for example.

sonjadog · 22/11/2018 08:59

Tbh, I don´t look at mine very often. I couldn't tell you in detail about what colour it is down there and the texture. I wash in the shower along with the rest of me and that's about it.

Rachelover40 · 22/11/2018 09:05

I agree with LalaLeona, bring back the bush!

I'd have thought bleaching in that area would have caused burning and itching, the skin is so sensitive.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 22/11/2018 09:13

I think most decent men couldn’t give a toss to be honest.

I think most men are not aware that this is even a cosmetic option let alone expecting women to submit to the procedure

recklessruby · 22/11/2018 09:16

Yuk sounds painful. But did chuckle at the woman who got it done in her lunch break and the sex afterwards was amazing!
Really? Wasn't she in agony?
Also "a treat for her boyfriend " . Surely a BJ would do?

FuckKnuckle · 22/11/2018 09:26

@NotAnotherParkingFine

MrsMWA · 22/11/2018 09:31

Totally normal in Asia, all sorts of fanny treatments are - especially in Korea. Most intimate washes come with added whitening properties. There are women’s intimate spas all over the place that offer all sorts of massages, steaming etc etc. It’s not a new thing just spreading West like some other beauty trends. Do it or don’t do it. Doesn’t bother me at all.

itsbritneybiatches · 22/11/2018 09:35

@Fairylea @KeepServingTheDrinks

I immac everything off. If I could be arsed to put a landing strip on I would but I usually just immac it all off once a month and it keeps it tidy.

I would never ever contemplate bleaching my foof. Someone said upthread it serves a purpose as is. I immac because I want to and my partner doesn't care either way. I might have Botox and inject poison into my forehead but I draw the line at lasering my fanny to get it a "nicer" colour. I honestly can't imagine anyone giving two fucks what colour someone's fanny was.
