I've just come out of surgery under general and have one working hand.
DH -what time can I get you and can you come down to the entrance'
3 'bfs'- no texts,
2 f&f I'd told so just contacted them.
DD grown up got prompted by DH.
Nothing off DM.
All knew.
I'm the mug who coached all bffs through historical/recent illness/drama.

How did people know you were out of surgery?

I would not text a friend just out of surgery, I would wait.

ummmm so it was a run of the mill thing like a CPS release or something? nothing life threatening or sudden and unexpected?
if so YABU , if you say had been in a accident or having a transplant yes it would have been nice for a few calls and flower etc, but not something planned and simple, do you need validation when you see a dentist for a filling too?

Hope you are recovering well. If I lived near you, I'd have picked you up in a taxi . Rest up and recuperate, make the most of it because it doesn't last long.
