To ask for creative ideas how to rehome a chaise longue

Just that really.

I bought a chaise longue for DH's study.

It's beautiful but not comfy. Would be great in a bedroom for looking at IYSWIM but fundamentally poor as a chair.

I can't find a way to get shot of it. I've tried Ebay, local poncy supermarket selling board, local fb selling sites. Nothing.

Local furniture dealer keen to to take it as part ex against ridiculously expensively hideous chair which is I don't want, but won't buy the chaise alone.

How else can I get rid of it? Seems sad to send it to the tip but I'm out of of ideas.

Are you looking to sell it or get rid of it for free. If free, FB selling sites are the way to go. Someone will always have it if it's free.

Celestia26 · 16/11/2018 19:24

Sorry, should have been a question mark in there!

ChippyMinton · 16/11/2018 19:26

Charity shop. Many of them will collect.

BertrandRussell · 16/11/2018 19:26

A chaise langue is for life- you can’t just get rid of it because you decide you don’t like it any more. Would you do that to a child????

MasonJar · 16/11/2018 19:26

The British Heart Foundation will collect furniture in good condition.

Smallhorse · 16/11/2018 19:27

Freecycle

ContessaHallelujahSparklehorse · 16/11/2018 19:27

I misread that as how to become a chaise longue; must have spent too long on the 'what did you identify as as a child' thread....

ImAChaiseLongueGetMeOutOfHere · 16/11/2018 19:28

I'd like some money for it ideally as it cost a few hundred quid

Charity shop doesn't want want it.

My cats (now only one cat) have for years had their own chaise longue . . know anyone with a cat in need of a sofa?😁

ImAChaiseLongueGetMeOutOfHere · 16/11/2018 19:30

I liked that thread contessa

Perhaps I identify with it too much, hence the the angst.

Just put it on eBay

CaptainCallisto · 16/11/2018 19:32

Might be worth trying a local theatre group if there is one - they're very useful for period pieces!

ImAChaiseLongueGetMeOutOfHere · 16/11/2018 19:32

Could it come and live with you Bertrand

Wheedling tone..

Our tip has a sales area, I leave decent stuff there. I don't get any money but at least it is not landfill.

WobbleTime · 16/11/2018 19:35

Can we see a photo of it?

Holdingonbarely · 16/11/2018 19:35

Post a photo!

Fredathetortoise · 16/11/2018 19:35

Theatres

DaysOfCurlySpencer · 16/11/2018 19:38

Was also going to say theatres.

However, whereabouts are you and what colour is it? (How much do you want for it?)

How much are you asking on eBay
It looks lovely! But perhaps high expectations?

ImAChaiseLongueGetMeOutOfHere · 16/11/2018 19:41

Yorkshire

Would be very happy to get £130 (paid a lot more than that but can't admit that to DH!)

ImAChaiseLongueGetMeOutOfHere · 16/11/2018 19:41

Local auction house? I'm an auctioneer and we sell one of these every couple of months for around £100-150
