So following on from a popular thread about what us women earn, I am genuinely interested in how much net income families bring in each month?

This is not talked about in real life but I think it is so interesting and I am nosy Smile

So how much money does your household bring in each month? Is it from work or benefits or both? And where in the uk are you?

I'll start:
Me, DH, 2x DC, South East. Money in each month is £3,900. This includes 2 salaries and child benefit.

Joint income of £6000 pm before tax. Husband is self employed and earns almost double my salary. We have 3 children so irl it never seems like enough though I know we are very lucky.

About 4400 after tax between us. No children yet but have one on the way so a lot goes into savings.

About £1,450-£1500.

Namechanged for this! Family of 2 adults and 2 children, one child is severely disabled and gets high rate DLA for care and mobility. (Benefits paid 4 weekly have been adjusted to show a monthly figure)

DH Salary £1630
Care allowance £287
child benefit £151
Tax credits £620

                        Total of £2,688

DS also has DLA of £645

This thread is the biggest pile of bullshmitt I Have ever read in my life. Honestly. I can’t even believe how many people must be lying on here. I’m a SAHM and DH earns in the top 1-2%, so it’s not that I think the numbers are impossible, It is just that on every single other thread to do with wedding costs or holiday costs etc, NONE of the supposed salaries on this thread are reflected. It’s also not an accurate % representation of national statistics. It’s nonsense.

Why the f do people lie on the internet like this?!

Also, by the way, people who are earning well and claim benefits or credits or whatever/child whatever what are fucking arseholes.

Me, DP, DD and 2 DSS, my partner and I both work full time. About 7k after tax, I earn a lot less than DP. After DP's payments to ex, mortgage, car payments, nursery costs and bills it's really not much left despite DP earning well (divorce bled him dry - and still is). We're both saving what we can, have cut down on what we can and I will be going through a career change to make a positive change in our finances.

Warsawa31 · 27/04/2020 19:17

A lot of rich people here lol.

I make 1600-2000 per month working to fix power lines in all weathers I’m in the wrong job by sounds of it hahaha. Household income is around 3k per month

Scarlettpixie · 27/04/2020 20:43

Single mum of a 13 yo. Employed full time. My income is about £2200 after tax including child benefit. No child maintenance.

Sexnotgender · 27/04/2020 21:01

About £5k after tax.

LynseyLou1982 · 27/04/2020 21:19

£3600 a month inc child benefit for 1 child. X 2 full time wags but we're in the North so we don't get as much as Southerners
