Bearpaw?

AdobeWanKenobi · 14/11/2018 17:19

TK Maxx had some lovely ones in last week at £49, never heard of the brand, DIJE but they were decent quality.

My favourites were always Jumbuck, they knocked Uggs into next week. Unfortunately you can't seem to get them in the UK anymore.

UpstartCrow · 14/11/2018 17:21

I tried Bearpaw, Kangas and Emu, they're all ok but the soles arent as thick as Uggs so they arent as warm. I wouldn't buy Emu again.
My favourites are Skechers KeepSakes. They're as warm as Uggs but a fraction of the price.

CatCoriander · 14/11/2018 17:25

Costco's shearlings are almost identical to Uggs and very reasonable at around £30

Cranky17 · 14/11/2018 17:26

There’s an budget type ugg which are a bit cheaper, made by ugg, the sole is thicker and the material isn’t quite such good quality but you wouldn’t knownunless you’d already had a pair

LunaAzul · 14/11/2018 17:28

Can you get to an outlet that has an Ugg store? The one in Swindon had light grey ones a few weeks ago for £60 ish

Jammydodger1981 · 14/11/2018 17:30

I bought some Ugg style boots from Sainsbury’s 2 years ago for £35 as my real ones look worse for wear, they’re still going and really comfy. No sloping soles either!

londonrach · 14/11/2018 17:36

I wouldnt they awful from behind with most people walking on the side of them due to poor support. I know one person who broke her ankle wearing these so called footwear. Gets of soapbox

Allice · 14/11/2018 17:46

I think providing their suede they're ok, it's the really cheap suede looking ones that go at the heels.

Allice · 14/11/2018 17:46

Fuck, they're suede!

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 14/11/2018 17:51

I had a pair of leather uggs with proper rubber soles but they don't seem to have repeated them. My current "uggs" are from Common Projects at Net a Porter, I got them in the sale. Might be worth a look?
Mine are black leather & rubber soles, with white fluffy lining. The only problem is that they're a bit heavy on my feet- I have damage to my feet and ankles.

Frankswife87 · 14/11/2018 17:53

Sketchers keepsakes! Much nicer than uggs, so comfortable and warm and cheaper. I purchased mine off m&m for £45.00 in chocolate , there was different colours in suede or leatherette

AdobeWanKenobi · 14/11/2018 17:59

The Sketchers keepsakes are faux fur though. The whole point of a sheepskin boot is the sheepskins ability to control temperature.

Cant see the point of paying £45 for faux when you can get genuine sheepskin for the same price.

doleritedinosaur · 14/11/2018 18:00

Have you tried schuh imperfects & offcuts by office?

I picked up the leather ugg boots in the summer sale by offcuts & all they needed was cleaning up. They both came to half the price of one pair at original price.

hula008 · 14/11/2018 18:26

They are unbelievably ugly but I really want some of the Fluff Yeah Slides

KitschBitch · 14/11/2018 18:40

Have had 2 pairs of Emu, 1 pair UGG. No real difference but I found Uggs needed more wearing in. All have a lifespan of several years, although I usually wear them as slippers.

Ktay · 14/11/2018 18:44

do people usually go for their usual size with sheepskin boots or size down? The Costco ones said they should be a snug fit but not sure how snug is snug? Do you need the usual finger’s width gap at the end? Want to get my 9yo some but getting confused!

CatCoriander · 14/11/2018 19:39

I went with my normal size for both Uggs and Costco and found the Costco ones a tighter fit.

Racecardriver · 14/11/2018 20:04

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT uggs aren’t shoes. They’re slippers. Please do wear them outdoors. It’s very embarrassing*

*unless you are:
-under 25 sitting an exam during winter
-visibly ill and in a super market/pharmacy nearest to your house buying stuff clearly associated with your illness
-staying in the car

These are the official rules. If you import the boot, please import the tiles that go with them.

Also, would agree with pp that Emu aren’t very good, especially if you tend to wear holes in the toes of your socks, they you are likely to wear a hole in the end of the boot.

Racecardriver · 14/11/2018 20:05

@Ktay buy your usual size as they get worn down.

Racecardriver · 14/11/2018 20:08

Oh and ugg branded ones a five for heel support. My current pair I’ve had a couple of years so almost a years worth of daily wear and the heels have kept shape just fine. Not sure I have ever seen real uggs go slouchy at the heel.

didyouseetheflaresinthesky · 14/11/2018 20:33

I have a 5 year old pair from primark that aren't slouchy at the heel and have worn just fine.

UpstartCrow · 14/11/2018 20:39

I've had a pair of the Costco and they are less expensive but don't last as long. They are more like Emus than Uggs.

Jack65 · 14/11/2018 20:41

3 pairs of Australian Uggs, the oldest about 7 years old and still going strong. No broken heels.
