To think I would suit this hair style?

My sister said I definitely would not suit it. I disagree and I WANT TO LOOK LIKE FRANKIE! Ahem.

Thoughts?

I’m the pixelated one btw Grin.

I had a very similar haircut to this a few years ago and it was fantastic. I’ve seen some PPs say you need thick hair for this, I disagree... I have a lot of hair but it’s very fine and this made it look really thick actually. Go for it OP!

MrsSarahSiddons · 13/11/2018 16:04

I really like that style but I don't know how people keep it in place. If you went out in a slight breeze wouldn't it all blow around to the wrong side like a bald man's combover?
Or fall sideways like this one?

ladycarlotta · 13/11/2018 16:04

I have hair that's quite thick but quite fine if that makes sense? And has a bit of a wave to it. I'd definitely lean you towards the Cary Mulligan or Anne Hathaway looks, I agree with others that the Frankie look will need loads of styling to look right although I do really like it. You can totally have short hair with your hair, it really isn't that thin, just not crazy thick like Frankie's.

WannabeFrankie · 13/11/2018 16:12

Grin at the bald man’s combover!

Between that and the curly mullet, I’m sounding like quite the catch.

My hair is fine but there’s a lot of it, I’m told. It does tend to be thicker towards the bottom and flat at the top, which is why I thought short might work.

...but not so long on the right hand side. I like the left hand side because the layers are fairly long if I want to grow it out

GiBlues · 13/11/2018 18:12

How about something like this?
Perfect for fine hair 👍🏻

Hard to say but it would look very different as your hair is very fine compared to the woman in the other pic. Nice style though.

DownWithThisSortaThing · 13/11/2018 18:25

I like Carey mulligans hair but not a fan of the frankie lopsided bob thing, personally I think it's ageing. I know a woman with it in her early 30s but it adds about 15 years on her. It's also very high maintenance, but tbh she uses so much hairspray on it that it wouldn't move in a hurricane.
I actually like the way your hair naturally falls/ curls OP, I would look for a style that works with it rather than choose one that disguises it if you see what I mean.

WannabeFrankie · 13/11/2018 18:33

Oh I like those most recent pics best I think.

Looks like you have the right chin/face shape for it 😊

Jungster · 13/11/2018 18:45

going against the grain here but i think that very side parted parting up top would just 'fall' back to the centre.

the sarah harding one with the slightly less side parted parting would work better.

I look at hair styles where the hair is swept right over from right to left in a parting (or vv) and I think yeh, that would just fall back to a centre parting in twenty second!

ElizabethMainwaring · 13/11/2018 18:50

You would suit it, but, sadly like me, you don't have lots of hair. Im afraid that in our situation you have to make a big thing of your other features. You are very pretty with fab bone structure. But you can't make hair out of thin air.

permana · 13/11/2018 18:54

I think you would suit the styles op but what you don't realise it that some of these women are probably wearing a hair piece in with their natural hair to create volume.

WannabeFrankie · 13/11/2018 19:16

Yeah, I’m leaning towards Sarah Harding...

Thanks for the compliments. Shucks you guys Flowers.

I’m a right stinker unless pixelated Grin.

I think I’ll see if the hairdresser will do Sarah Harding. She might say no. She’s the best sort of hairdresser for me - decisive and opinionated!

I definitely prefer Carey mulligan. I’m not a fan of either frankie or Sarah Harding. They are both quite harsh and aging looks. You look softer and very pretty despite the pixels. If I were you I’d go beautiful classic Carey. But that’s just one view.

PeggyMitchellPerm · 13/11/2018 19:41

I had an asymmetric bob a few years ago - side parting, one side was just under my chin and the other side shorter and just tucked behind my ear, not as short as Frankie’s. I liked it at first but it kept growing out quickly. I can’t find a similar pic as they’re all too short or too long!

GiBlues · 13/11/2018 20:05

Yay!
Please come back and let us know if you had it done (complete with photo of fab new hair too!) 😁

WildCherryBlossom · 13/11/2018 20:28

I love Carey Mulligan's hair however she wears it. Always looks amazing. Would you go as far as the Mia Farrow Pixie?

WannabeFrankie · 13/11/2018 20:45

Love Mia Farrow. Yeah, I’d do it. S’only hair .

Grin

I would though, if hairdresser allows...

Oooh good luck. In pixelated version you look like you have the same colouring and similar face shape to Mia Farrow.

WannabeFrankie · 14/11/2018 15:36

Why thanks cherry!

I’ve boojed an appointment, but, as I anticipated, my amazing hairdresser is fully booked for ages. Can’t get appointment for a couple of weeks. Shall update then.... unless it’s terrible, in which case I’ll be back for hat recommendations...
