To think the asymmetric rear end on the Discovery is an abomination

Every time I drive behind one I recoil at the sight, there is just something so offensive to the eye about the asymmetric design

I am not someone who generally pays much attention to cars at all but every time I see one I feel a sense of horror

Some things really ought to be symmetrical and cars are one of those things IMHO

Have you seen the Evoque convertible in the flesh? I have. Oh how I laughed. It makes the driver look like they are taking a ride in a hot tub!

The Disco is fuck ugly, as are the new Range Rovers, especially the Evoke, bring back the old Range Rover

Dh and I had an older style Discovery and when we were looking for a new car discounted the new version purely because of how bad it looks from the back.

Apparently there's a company that offers modifications to make it look better!

Another here who hates the new Landrover/Rangerover designs! And the Nissan Juke and its bulbous frog eyes - eeuugghh! and has anyone else noticed that the latest Ford Focus looks like a Volvo from the back?

Do you think that there's a special class where automotive designers go to learn how to make a car look as ugly as possible?

Agree to the special design class. Some Italian and German designers appear, though, to be in a different catchment area !

It is hideous.

It does reek of paying homage to the old (nice) design with the offset square number plate, but it hasn't worked at all.

It seems to me that someone has measured the blueprints incorrectly and come up with different numbers for the length of each side of the number plate. Doesn't engender faith in the manufacturing if someone can't even use a ruler correctly.

So funny you've posted this. I was driving with dh the other day when I saw one and said to him 'wtf is wrong with that car!'

YADNBU! And as PP said, the Nissan Cube. Both look so so wrong and instantly bizarre, and I am not one to notice cars!

The Cube is awesome (I'm biased though as my dh has one). It's not conventional looking but very roomy inside, lovely big plush arm chair seats in the front, origami sunroof, loads of big cup holders and the children can easily walk the full length of the rear passenger space. The rear door is brilliant for accessing the boot.

I was just looking for an image of the Cube. Godawful thing. Brings me out in hives looking at it. I wanted to scream at the drivers.
