To think the asymmetric rear end on the Discovery is an abomination

Every time I drive behind one I recoil at the sight, there is just something so offensive to the eye about the asymmetric design

I am not someone who generally pays much attention to cars at all but every time I see one I feel a sense of horror

Some things really ought to be symmetrical and cars are one of those things IMHO

Yanbu. It bothers me hugely. And dh.

HeronLanyon · 12/11/2018 21:44

Noeuf ! Cross post. I opened your image afterwards hoping it wasn’t the awful colour of mine. We really should have warned people !!

Milomonster · 12/11/2018 21:47

Feel dizzy every time I look at it. I waste a few seconds of my life every time I see one trying to figure it out. It’s hideous.

SouthWestmom · 12/11/2018 22:45

@HeronLanyon it's dreadful. Couloir just adds to the weirdness

Sandinmypants · 12/11/2018 22:48

I just can try believe no one pointed it out in ‘the meeting’ (in my head these things always have a meeting where the design is unveiled and everyone either claps or tells them it’s shit). Did no one say ‘that bit’s wonky’ in the meeting?!

BalloonSlayer · 12/11/2018 22:53

Isn't there an audi or alfa romeo with an asymmetric front?

I know all cars have an asymmetric front of sorts because of there only being a steering wheel on one side but still . . . every kind of wrong!!

Iamalltheyhavenow · 12/11/2018 22:56

YANBU. I am so glad it is not just me! I feel the need to point out the awfulness every time I see one, gives me the rage, much to my sons' amusement. If I'd paid that much for a car I'd expect it to at least look good!

Agree completely.

FuckKnuckle · 12/11/2018 23:01

You think that's asymmetric? Has nobody seen the Nissan Cube? (which I find oddly fascinating in a two headed lamb kind of way...)

To think the asymmetric rear end on the Discovery is an abomination
BadgersBiggestFan · 12/11/2018 23:01

Yessssss to this!!

Disorientates me every time I’m behind one.

Give me a Discovery Sport any day!

strumpetblowingatrumpet · 12/11/2018 23:02

Yadnbu its an affront to automotive design!!

thenightsky · 12/11/2018 23:07

FuckKnuckle

I was going to post The Cube too!

ScottCheggJnr · 12/11/2018 23:09

I much prefer the older one. I actually worked as a driver for JLR for a few months last year and didn't like the newer ones. The Discovery Sport, however, I much prefer.

HeronLanyon · 12/11/2018 23:09

Alfa’s are things of beauty though ! The front isn’t wonky the plate just makes way for the gorgeousness Grin

Historydweeb · 12/11/2018 23:09

They set my teeth on edge, it's a fucking monstrosity

HeronLanyon · 12/11/2018 23:10

I did not insert that apostrophe !

FuckKnuckle · 12/11/2018 23:39

@thenightsky Grin

AGHHHH · 12/11/2018 23:51

Fuck me I feel like pulling my chest hair out after seeing that.

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 12/11/2018 23:54

That Nissan Cube though!

I thought I had the fugliest car ever when I had my old Fiat Multipla (the old shape with the roll of flab at the front).

Blankscreen · 12/11/2018 23:59

Yes ithr new discovery is so awful at the back.

It would look so much better with a central number plate.

araiwa · 13/11/2018 00:01

Discovery is still the worst car i have ever driven on the road. It was almost scary how shit it was

safariboot · 13/11/2018 00:11

Still better looking than the Evoque, which looks like it's been beheaded.

Defenbaker · 13/11/2018 00:12

YADNBU. Hideous. Almost as bad as the Nissan Juke, but probably costs twice as much, which makes it worse.

QuestionableMouse · 13/11/2018 00:17

The new civics are worse though I think. It's all just a bit unnecessary. And they look like they're made from plastic.
