To ask for Christmas present ideas for my 15 year old daughter

Bumbledop · 11/11/2018 17:01

It’s the same every year! She says there’s nothing she wants or needs so perhaps some surprises. Which is lovely except I can’t think of anything!

Her birthday is in December which makes it more difficult. She is having hair straighteners for her birthday and I have booked her a birthday treat so birthday is sorted.

Please help!! What are you getting your teen daughter for Christmas? She has an old mobile phone that she doesn’t want replaced. I would really appreciate some suggestions.

What is she into? Does she have a games console?

kaytee87 · 11/11/2018 17:04

What is she into? Does she like make up? Clothes? Smelly stuff? Gaming? Sports?

Stopfinishingthemilk · 11/11/2018 17:07

Expensive make up I.e Fenty Beauty, HUDA, Anastasia, Charlotte Tilsbury etc

krazyinlove · 11/11/2018 17:08

Is she into make up ?
My dd has asked for Some decent make up brushes and make up .
& Adidas jogging bottoms from top shop . Last year it was Victoria's Secret ( she has expensive taste)
Maybe concert tickets ?
It can add up to be quite pricy with teenagers but best get make up brand she likes and uses rather than cheaper one .

AlexaShutUp · 11/11/2018 17:10

Marking for interest. My dd is 13 and never knows what she wants!

EmUntitled · 11/11/2018 17:11

Does she like to read? Books would be good as small presents to go with something bigger.

Are there any film franchises she is particularly keen on, or bands that she likes?

SherlockHolmes · 11/11/2018 17:15

Amazon Echo or similar smart-speaker? My 16 yr old DS has one and loves it. Bluetooth speaker? Bluetooth headphones? Music subscription?

Mesmeri · 11/11/2018 17:17

When I was that age I would have liked gift vouchers. Probably for Waterstones, HMV & River Island (but that was in the mid 90s so obviously modern online equivalents now..) plus something small & useful to unwrap on the day - some pretty stationery, maybe a new hat/school bag, stripey over the knee socks, chocolate...

seesensepeople · 11/11/2018 17:20

Cineworld unlimited card? Handbag and makeup? Makeover photoshoot? Day out at a zombie uprising game? Tickets to theatre/band? Laptop? Pandora bracelet/charms/ring? iTunes vouchers? Loot crate subscription? Storage box full of art materials?
It really depends what she is in to - post more details and I'll try other ideas...

Dollymixture22 · 11/11/2018 17:21

Does she need a new laptop or iPad?

A new bike (if she cycles).

Does she have any hobbies - some nice sports gear?

OneStepMoreFun · 11/11/2018 17:28

How does she spend her time? Is she sporty? Musical? Arty? Fashion-conscious? Bookish? Does she love dance or drama? Cookery? Jewellery? Make up? Gaming?

I'd start noticing what she really enjoys and look for something connected to it.

Bumbledop · 11/11/2018 17:45

Thank you for all the ideas. Most of my friends have boys so they’re not much help Grin.

She’s likes animals. Her hobby is riding and she has what she needs. I don’t tend to buy her any more than what she needs as it’s an expensive hobby!!

She wears a little bit of makeup and it’s just my cast offs really, so maybe some nice makeup is a good idea. It’s goid to hear what brands girls like as I have no idea and suspect neither does my daughter!

She does line music

Ohh ffs! I’m shit at this! She does not do line music or live music. SHE LIKES MUSIC!

OP posts:
Shantotto · 11/11/2018 17:53

I’d she likes music some cool headphones and a Spotify subscription?

Notquietrichenough · 11/11/2018 17:59

I'm thinking of getting my teens (boys) an Alexa Spot each. I've got one, I use it as a clock, an alarm, a calendar and it plays music/radio.

Clankboing · 11/11/2018 18:14

I suppose it depends upon her style but Cath Kidston have a horse pattern now. There's definitely a bag, not sure what else, but take a look if it is her style.

Anniversarysavings · 11/11/2018 18:17

Subscription to horse and hound

Spotify premium membership

Some private riding lessons in a discipline she likes

Depending on what makeup she goes for - maybe something from boots 17 just a basic eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow combo gift set, or revolution are quite good for makeup pallets at a reasonable price. If you went for Mac it would be appreciated but would cost mega bucks for the comparable and there isn’t much difference beside for things like foundations.

An MP3 player or iPod (suits many budgets you can get a decent mp3 quite cheap now, best if she can use it with Spotify)

Zoo keeper experience day

Falconry experience day

Horse care / stable management books

Just a few ideas there

Buswankeress · 11/11/2018 18:24

My 15 year old is into riding too, I have got her a course of specialist lessons with a local instructor - we have our own horse but this is with a show jumping coach who really knows her stuff.
Join her up to the BHS
Subscription to a magazine like your horse
Tickets to Olympia or hoys for next year.

OneStepMoreFun · 11/11/2018 18:30

New jhodpurs or riding jacket or boots? A really good gilet and fleece so she doesn't have to wear a bulky jacket?

A pamper basket for when she gets home cold and muddy after a day at the stables. I made one for my cousin once, with sheepskin boots (fake Uggs) a fleecy dressing gown, bubble bath etc and she loved it. She runs a livery and is constantly cold and muddy and looking after every animal on the planet before herself.
