To ask for Christmas present ideas for my 15 year old daughter

It’s the same every year! She says there’s nothing she wants or needs so perhaps some surprises. Which is lovely except I can’t think of anything!

Her birthday is in December which makes it more difficult. She is having hair straighteners for her birthday and I have booked her a birthday treat so birthday is sorted.

Please help!! What are you getting your teen daughter for Christmas? She has an old mobile phone that she doesn’t want replaced. I would really appreciate some suggestions.

Maybe a red letter day type thing for a unique experience if she doesn’t particularly want ‘stuff’ ?

FuzzyCustard · 11/11/2018 18:33

Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette. Really nice quality neutral colours and some cred too.

Villanellesproudmum · 11/11/2018 18:33

One of the presents my daughter 14, has mentioned is a Ancestry DNA kit, which I’ll get as that could be interesting.

angieloumc · 11/11/2018 18:46

I second the Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes, my DD who's 14 has them all, and is getting their newest 'Cherry' one for Christmas. I don't know if it's just a thing with my DD and her friends but something like Boots 17 is a complete no no unfortunately. I wish she did like them!

@waterandlemonjuice May I ask where you got the Ted Baker water bottle from? My daughter would love one of those!

waterandlemonjuice · 11/11/2018 19:10

All the 15 yo girls I know are obsessed with what they call ‘high end’ make up, eg Smashbox, Benefit, Laura Mercer, Iconic, Tarte, Charlotte Tilbury and I think No 7 just makes the cut. So I wouldn’t go cheap necessarily!

waterandlemonjuice · 11/11/2018 19:13

Urban Decay makes the cut too.

Dollymixture22 · 11/11/2018 19:15

I want everything on this thread!!!

bridgetreilly · 11/11/2018 19:20

One of those novelty cooking gadgets: popcorn maker/smoothie maker/ice cream maker. Plus get in the stuff to make some fun versions on Boxing Day.

MrsFassy · 11/11/2018 19:52

@waterandlemonjuice Thank you! Just had a look, both colours out of stock but I'm adding to the list, my daughter will love it!

As for ideas, I'm a little lost myself this year as my daughter has said she has everything she needs and she'd rather I spend my money on myself. I was thinking clothes, she loves H&M, ASOS and Top Shop, plus Adidas and Ellesse; maybe some decent jewellery, Vans and make-up. She also loves fluffy socks, blankets and little bits for her room, so will get her those and some pj's. Then there's the obligatory game, think I might get her UNO this year or something Harry Potter or Friends.

waterandlemonjuice · 11/11/2018 20:15

Tk maxx online has loads of cheap present type stuff

Shiklah · 11/11/2018 20:20

I've got my 15YO tickets to Hamilton and a night at a local hotel. He doesn't know yet but has been listening to the soundtrack and I know he'll LOVE it. Last year we got him some special driving lessons on private land - he loved that too.

I have a 15 year old and she’s asked for;

  • Reading books and Manga books
  • Make up (Urban Decay, Jeffrey Star, Tarte)
  • A rock salt lamp for her room
  • A glass water bottle with crystals down the middle inside! Ha!
  • Anything with baby Sloths on
  • a large bean bag

And some other bits.

LEMtheoriginal · 11/11/2018 20:27

My dd likes the Nyx stuff from Boots.

VenusInSpurs · 12/11/2018 08:32

By 15 don’t they mostly want money?

nellieellie · 12/11/2018 08:43

She sounds a bit like my 11 yr old DD who never wants anything. She loves animals too. We have bought stuff for her room - animal print duvet cover, faux fur throw, we’ve commissioned a local artist to paint a wolf picture - they’re beautiful and not that expensive.

An experience day like wolf walking, or a day at a zoo or animal rescue centre. If she has pets, then for small presents you can get photos printed onto mugs, cushions etc.

Also can sponsor an endangered species through WWF, or there’s a whale and dolphin conservation organisation WDC that you can sponsor through and get regular email updates.

Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette.

This

I phoned a teenage relative from the UD shop and asked what she wanted, that was all she wanted.

Is there a band she is in to? Tickets for a gig or a theatre show can be good.

If she doesn't have much make up of her own then you could book her a make over with a gift voucher for anything she wants to buy.

Doidontimmm · 12/11/2018 09:20

I got mine concert tickets and tickets to see Matilda. She loves dogs so also a visit to the dog cafe in our town!!

TeeniefaeTroon · 12/11/2018 09:24

I agree with Urban Decay eye palette, they're great. I'm too tight to buy one for myself though 😁
My DD has done Amazon and ASOS wish lists so I can pick some things from there.
