I've had a none moving sort of day, I've been snuggled under the duvet on the laptop and with a book, the news on mute in the background.

We've had a serious awful heartbreaking incident close to our house this morning so I've spent it snuggled up to my youngest DD over snuggling her feeling blessed and equally sad at the thought.

Tonight we're going to order a takeaway, choose a movie and snuggle down as a family with all our duvets and pillows downstairs.

Have a wonderful day what ever you do xx

Up since 7.30.

Mostly laundry, cleaning, cuddling the dog, ironing, cuddling children, eating chilli cooked by DH, looking out the window at the wild sea and squalls of rain, congratulating the dog on warning us there was a hornet in the house, getting DH to kill said hornet, now drinking a glass of red wine while everyone else is in front of respective screens...

Taffeta · 10/11/2018 15:26

Took DS to footy training
Made a Vietnamese beef stew for tomorrow
Sorted the washing
Made DD lunch
Took DS to station and bought him a ticket
Took DD to netball match

Mum arriving soon
Off then to collect DH from hospital
Make salmon dish for supper for all of us
Watch Strictly and drink wine!

Adversecamber22 · 10/11/2018 15:28

Woke up at 5am but had almost seven hours sleep.
Played on my games console for two hours.
Walked 4km
Went out to lunch with DH
Did food shopping
Tidied kitchen
Watching a film later with DH and DS, DH is cooking.
Some food prep for tomorrow's lunch as DS girlfriend is coming.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 10/11/2018 15:36

Woke up at 8am which makes a nice change from the 6.00am weekday wake ups.
Came down to a wee from my dog on the kitchen floor. Bless her, she will be 11 in April so if I sleep in this often happens.

I have my kids (all teens) this weekend so youngest dd (13) and I went to the shops to get everything we need for a roast tomorrow and had a look around the charity shops.

Ate lunch together and I have done nothing at all since.

Kids are playing uno, there will no doubt be an argument soon Grin

Been for a run and then met some friends for a dog walk.

Now a bit bored at home waiting until it's time to meet other friends in the pub!

Ladymacmuff · 10/11/2018 15:38

Child Taxi service. Another "job" imminent. I did make time for a spot of brunch, alone (bliss) in between jobs.

TheLastNigel · 10/11/2018 15:49

Took dogs out, sliced oranges for girls football match, filled tea tins for tea bar, de scaled kettle, stripped bed and put sheets in wash, went to girls football, did tea bar, got wet, came home, nagged girls to shower, now waiting for them to get ready to go for a mooch around TK Maxx before we go to the cinema to see The Nutcracker.
Love a busy Saturday though I'm flagging a bit today after a horrible week at work

JustAskingForAFriend · 10/11/2018 15:54

Been raining all day so all in pj's. Movies. Games coloring etc. Done the laundry Tho and made cottage pie.
When baby in bed I'll do ironing and have a soak.

missyB1 · 10/11/2018 15:57

Dropped 9 year old ds at his school rugby match. Then caught train to the midlands to visit my elderly mum in hospital. On the train back home now. Looking forward to a glass of wine tonight. Wine

HurrahMoaningMyrtle · 10/11/2018 15:58

Awake at 6.30am thanks to DD. DH took DS2 to swimming.
Finally dragged myself out of bed at 10am to go and visit my SDM with DS2 and DD.
Picked DS1 up from town, took DS2 to an overnight birthday party. Hanging around watching Riverdale before going to watch DS1 play basketball till early evening.
Tbf this is an unusually busy day for us.
Have a lovely evening OP

bertiesgal · 10/11/2018 15:59

Lazy morning.

Stripped beds and put laundry on. Tidy and hoover so nice environment to spend the day in.

Made ice cream sundaes with the kids. Originally planned a walk but grey and miserable and the suggestion was met with dissent. We’re off to center parcs on Monday so a week of outdoorsy stuff ahead of us.

Watching TV with kids right now.

Once DH finishes his run we’re going to put on music and dance (DCs love it).

Wine has been bought and DH has suggested full family take away so no cooking for mummy tonight thank feck.

On paper we’ve done very little but it’s warm and cosy here and vile outside.

Everyone seems happy including me.

CrashBank · 10/11/2018 16:11

I've been up since 8 (back woke me up) and have been finishing up this weeks contracting work. I'm currently having a half hour break before starting to mark assignments for my first year module.

In the highly unlikely event I get that finished today I have a massive stack of reading to get through and some writing to do.

No such thing as a weekend here [sigh].

TheWickedWitchofWestYorkshire · 10/11/2018 16:33

I had a lay in, then we had the fun of tesco on a Saturday morning, then dinner and then I took the youngest to a party. I'm going to get them in about 20 minutes. Dh has a visitor or two and will watch the football in a bit and I will sort out the children's tea and then go to bed because I have a headache.

EnormousDormouse · 10/11/2018 16:39

Up just after 5, watered the plants, watched the sunrise, drank tea in the garden, played with the kittens, went out for coffee and croissant for brekky and dropped in at the local souq. Then did about 5 loads of washing and did a deep clean as I've had guests and the house was a tip. More kitten fuss, an episode of MasterChef, shower and now I'm tucked up in bed (work tomorrow). It's 8.30pm here (M.E.) so not a crackers time to go to bed!

proseccoandbooks · 10/11/2018 16:51

Woke up at 8, naturally, no alarm (❤️), had a lovely tea, went grocery shopping at lidl and then ate out for lunch. I baked an apple pie, had an afternoon nap and now we just had a slice of apple pie and we're about to watch it's a wonderful life (can't help itHmm)

areyoubeingserviced · 10/11/2018 16:57

Woke up at 6am; did a bit of a tidy
Went to the gym for two hours
Came home did a couple hours of reading ( Gordon Brown’s memoirs)
Cooked a pasta meal
I am now watching mindless Christmas
movies on tv
May do an hour of French later on

Roomba · 10/11/2018 17:26

Woke at 6am, which annoyed me as my DC were at their Dad's last night so I was due my one lie in a week! I say lie in, still would have to be up by 9.

Tidied up, hoovered and did laundry then collected DS2 from his stage school class. We went to the nearby Aldi to fill time before heading back to collect DS1 from his class.

Quickly scoffed down sandwiches before walking a mile to drop DS2 at his friend's to play. First time he's been invited to a friend's house and he was SO excited Grin DS1 and I then trekked home, I had a cup of tea, fed DS1 again (he's always hungry) then headed back to collect DS2.

Just got in and need to cook dinner, then get DS2 to bed. Then my plan is to SIT and watch a film with DS1. He can fetch drinks and snacks because I'm not moving again until bedtime Smile

Blueberryblueberry · 10/11/2018 17:38

Took the children to swimming lessons this morning, fishfingers and chips for lunch with the DC may be slightly hungover and then a chilled afternoon at home playing Lego, doing puzzles which the children have really enjoyed - I'm quite often chivvying everyone along to go out and do things but sometimes I have to remember the kids like staying home playing with toys Smile probably a chilled out one this evening with a movie or Netflix Wine

cricketmum84 · 10/11/2018 17:43

I've been cabbaged with a book in my dressing gown with DCat surgically attached to my side.

Got back from our holidays yesterday and I have a horrifically upset stomach, cold, chesty cough and exhausted. Poor Cricketcat thought she had been abandoned at the cattery and has refused to leave my shoulder since we got her home.

My diet has consisted of lemsip, Imodium and sweet tea.

Contemplating a rum and coke to kill the germs while my lovely DH cooks dinner for him and the kids!

(Feeling very self-pitying if you can't tell!!)

Gettingbackonmyfeet · 10/11/2018 17:51

It was DC weekend at home although went to their dad's at 3 o'clock

Defrosted and put in the slow cooker a piece of beef that is amazing for DP and I to eat later

Ds1 has extra needs and is dyspraxic and going through spectrum diagnosis so for the first time in three years when I say he got his hair cut.in a salon....it will explain why I had to wipe away tears before he saw....he did so so well , after previous experiences of incandescent meltdowns and violence to dp and I when trying to cut his hair it was a huge huge achievement...i was so proud of him

Ds2 stayed with DP and insisted on playing trains on dp's desk the entire time so do was a tad harassed when I returned and twitched slightly when I said the words " Choo choo"

They looked off to their dad's and I'm about to tidy the mountain of clothes in our bedroom before DP and I dive into our new books

Might put walking dead on in the background as it's Saturday

Xenadog · 10/11/2018 17:57

I had a lie in until about 9.00am and then slowly we got ourselves motivated. The weather looked great so got ready to go to a NT property but then the heavens opened. As we were only going to do the grounds we headed off to the cinema instead where we watched The Grinch (really good fun) then went to the local pub for a late lunch/early dinner.

Home now and waiting for Strictly. It’s been a lovely day!

Bombaybunty · 10/11/2018 18:12

Dropped DS at school so he could get the coach to a rugby match. Went to check my mother's flat, she's recently moved to a care home.
Drove miles to watch DS play rugby, stopping at a brilliant farm shop on the way. His team won and now we're home in the warm having a cup of tea before moving onto gin.
Not a bad Saturday.

Sidalee7 · 10/11/2018 18:32

Usual Saturday morning chores - grocery shopping and doing tons of washing (4 loads).
Went for a wet walk with the dc and friends, then went for lunch out.
About to snuggle with movie with dc and snacks.
Hope you are ok @mumof2sarah - horrid to get a shock like that.

AragonsGirl · 10/11/2018 19:03

Woke up to 14 month old crying at 7am, gave him a feed and put him back down hoping he’d sleep more...dozed until 8.15.
Bacon and egg sandwiches for breakfast.
DH took DD to her swimming lesson, I did the food shop with DS.
Watched Curse of the WereRabbit with DD while DS had a 2 hour nap (could you not have done this at 7am son?!)
Had lunch then went for a walk around to the lighthouse and around our village.
Came home, watched Muppets Christmas Carol.
Made rice pudding for tea, ate tea.
Husband has just put kids in the bath, I’m going to drink wine and watch strictly, and then we’re going to watch a film once kids are in bed.
Lazy day but lovely.

2b1c51 · 10/11/2018 19:26

Been up since 5:10 with DS (DH's turn for a lie in). Read books and played with cars until DD woke (6:30) and then shoved on Cbeebies for a bit so I could have breakfast in peace! Built villages, zoos, building sites and train tracks until DH finally surfaced, then went for a walk to the park and to feed the ducks.

Made soup for lunch (both kids miraculously ate it) then did craft and baking with DD while DS napped for 2.5 hours. More playing (and a bit of TV Blush) until I made a stir fry for tea and played hide and seek until bedtime (I hid in bed...!) Kids finally asleep so I'm slumped on sofa with wine and something on Prime until I judge it an acceptable time to go to bed on a Saturday (probably 9pm!) My turn for a lie in tomorrow Grin
