Get off the internet and on the phone

HopeGarden · 10/11/2018 12:07

Yes, call 111.

The nurse doing the immunisations at our GP practice told me that any post-immunisation fever should be over with within 24 hours of the vaccines.

ADastardlyThing · 10/11/2018 12:07

I'd say normal but call them to check. I was always told it's concerning when capol doesn't bring temp down (but not sure how true this is, but has always been right in our cases)

anxiousmotherof1 · 10/11/2018 12:14

The nurse was in such a rush to get me put she didnt tell me anything

Waiting for dh to get home so i can call

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 10/11/2018 12:19

Why are you waiting for your dh to get gone to make he call??? If you can play on mumsnet you can make a bloody call!

Imsoimso · 10/11/2018 12:21

Is he having wet nappies?

Imsoimso · 10/11/2018 12:23

When did the fever start? It's actually possible that he has a bug totally unrelated to the jabs.

anxiousmotherof1 · 10/11/2018 12:28

Fever started on Wednesday night. He had his jabs in the morning
Has wet nappies and runny very smelly poo

OP posts:
Imsoimso · 10/11/2018 12:29

Ye I guess just ring 111 then.

Frogsrus · 10/11/2018 12:31

So why are you waiting for your DH until you ring them?

anxiousmotherof1 · 10/11/2018 12:35

Because he has the car

OP posts:
Hawkmoth · 10/11/2018 12:37

It takes ages for them to ring back, no need to wait for transport.

Spam88 · 10/11/2018 12:40

As above, it can take hours for the to call back, so you're best calling now. If they offer you an appointment you can always ask for it later anyway.

cantthinkofausernamee · 10/11/2018 12:40

Don't see why you have to wait for a car? Call them to get advice and if they say you need to go to AnE get a Taxi?

Highpeak · 10/11/2018 12:43

In my experience they speak to you pretty quickly for a baby (may depend on how serious they deem it from the triage call though)

Spam88 · 10/11/2018 12:50

highpeak I've waited two hours for a five month old with a head to toe rash but well in herself, so think it very much depends on how they classify the seriousness.

purpleline · 10/11/2018 12:53

Just call them OP! What's the car got to do with the price of fish. They'll call an ambulance if that's ready or you will be told to wait for DH.

LordPickle · 10/11/2018 12:55

I never understand this sort of nonsense. Every time I've called 111, it has never occurred to me to ask the internet if I should.

Call 111 ffs and act like a caring parent! If it's serious they will send an ambulance. You don't need to wait for your DH to get home. Absolutely absurd.

Iminagony · 10/11/2018 12:56

Seems normal but with children you know your child best so if in doubt call.

Don't wait for your dh to get home before you call. Make the call now. They may have to get a nurse to call you back before advising to visit a walk in or a+e etc. So call now if you're worried.

WonderTweek · 10/11/2018 12:58

Sounds perfectly normal to me. The fever can hit days after the jabs. Ours had the MMR jab at 12 months and he got a fever a week later. If you’re concerned though, do ring 111. You’ll probably have to wait for a call back for a bit. Hope your little one feels better soon.

anxiousmotherof1 · 10/11/2018 13:00

Thanks to those with helpfull replies . I was not concerned enough thats why in posted here to see what people's experiences were with one year vaccines .

LEMtheoriginal · 10/11/2018 13:01

By all means give them a call OP. They will be able to advise you and put your mind at ease. They might suggest an OOH appointment but i doubt very much they will send an ambulance!!

Ooplesandbanoonoos · 10/11/2018 13:09

I would call without delay.
