Not a band but it was good old Shakin Stevens when I was 12 I loved him so much and I had a cushion with his face on it as well as a very fetching flat cap. Thankfully I have got over this. My first proper band concert was New Kids on the Block

King, Hammersmith Odeon 1985 - I'd just turned 14. I still have a crush on Paul King - he lived just up the road from me when I was 15/16 and he was rather lovely to my incredibly sad and desperate self.

I saw Tears for Fears at the Ipswich Gaumont in 1982 or possibly 83. I also.saw U2 there shortly afterwards.

I saw The Smiths at Essex Uni just before they really hit the big time. I think that was 1984.
