Neighbours parking in our bays!!

So we bought our property about 5 months ago. It's a newish townhouse with x3 parking bays. We own the bays they're in our deeds.
There is a particular neighbour to us who likes to park in our bays, without asking etc.
After it happening a couple of times DH requested politely that they didn't do this. We work shifts & leave & come home at all times.
They basically told him to do one & drove off.
After it happened again DH left a polite note saying these bays belong to .... number please don't Park here.
They posted a note back saying GET A LIFE on.
So we bought & fitted parking bollards.
Tonight I'm at work. A bollard was left down awaiting my return so I can park up they have parked in a bay!!
so DH speaks to them again & he received a load of abuse, threats, saying we need to get a life etc
Despite them being our property!
It is equivalent to someone parking on someones driveway.
Anyway the police were called to have a chat with them for being verbally abusive.
Is it just us BU or are they being dicks?
The bays are even marked up to the number of our house!

This is the exact reason I would never have "allocated parking bays" again!

We had this a few years ago, new builds, cul-de-sac, HA houses and allocated parking bays. However there was only ONE bay per house, all bays were numbered but people would try to park in whatever bay was closest to their house. It was a total nightmare. Our next door neighbours caused us so many problems as our bay was outside their door.

They would park in it whenever they could, if we used it they would just park behind us and block us in. We got told we were pathetic and sad for being protective of a parking space and should just park elsewhere (not sure where elsewhere was!!)

We spoke to HA who told us it wasn't their responsibility to provide parking for residents Hmmand all they could do was ask people to park in their own spaces but it couldn't be enforced.

It eventually got violent when the neighbours started threatening us and others.

We moved. I was miserable there and it was clearly nothing would change and the HA was powerless.

Some people are just anti social wankers who think they can do what they want irregardless of other people.

When we purchased this house, a private driveway was top of our list
