I really hate my body shape.

I hate hate hate my body shape. I have massive boobs but they're not balanced by my lack of hips.

Am I being unreasonable to yearn for the time when smaller arses were 'in fashion'? I blame the sodding Kardasians for this current need for a massive butt.

@pictish Do you have a particular weight that makes you feel better?

Even when I'm 'skinny' I still hate my top heaviness. Will I grow out of this?

ownitfixit · 06/11/2018 17:24

I'm 32

YABU!! I swear I have the biggest bum ever in relation to my size. Kim Kardashian has nothing on me. I can't even dress to hide it very well. I wish I had the boobs to balance it. I also worry that it will go majorly flat as I age...

M3lon · 06/11/2018 17:30

Don't hate your body OP, its yours, its unique and its keeping you alive!

Another way to look at it is how much of your personality, your intelligence, your mind would you be willing to sacrifice to get the body shape you'd prefer?

Probably not very much....so celebrate the whole of you, mind and body, working together as a team.

ownitfixit · 06/11/2018 17:30

I yearn for wider hips and a butt that is round! My husband used to play rugby a lot and as a consequence he has the most round but in proportion but I've ever seen. So jealous

@M3lon Yeah you're right I wouldn't sacrifice anything! But I'll keep on working out in case!

I have what you desire with my behind regions but hate my man shoulders !

Moral of the story: we’re never happy with what we have.

I have tiny titties though and I like them because I’m not a boob kinda girl, but it could be another thing to hate about myself, we’re not perfect!

I wish I could do excercise to rid me of my man shoulders though! I excercise but it only seems to excasperate the situation. I just never ever ever ever wear vest tops. I literally look like a chavvy young lad in them.
I’m like a bloody triangle shape with an oddly fat arse.

M3lon · 06/11/2018 17:32

and yes...I think you will grow out of it. Everyone gets old and their bodies change in all sorts of ways. Eventually you stop caring so much and just become grateful for the bits that still work.

pictish · 06/11/2018 17:34

I look my best at around 11 stone, even though I’m quite short at 5ft 3. My ‘ideal’ weight is supposed to be anything between 8 and a half and 10 and a half stone. I’m about 11 and a half at the moment, so carrying More than I’d like but nothing to lose sleep over. I have put on a lot of muscle tone recently through exercise so I’ll take it.

When I drop under the 11 stone, which I have in the past, my shoulders and neck start to look a bit scrawny and out of proportion with the rest of my body. I look healthier and younger with a little added extra as well as finding it less stress to maintain.

timetodothis · 06/11/2018 17:34

Some of those massive arses look like comical caricatures.

I would rather have a defined waist, big boobs and a normal sized, shapely arse.

Anyway, a vase body shape is better than an hourglass (google it)
A vase is a sexier, more elegant version of an hourglass.

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 06/11/2018 17:35

The thought that a particular body shape could be "fashionable" is bloody ridiculous. Nobody NEEDS a bigger arse. Society is just telling you that you do. Because KK has. Society used to say that you needed breast implants. It used to say you needed to starve yourself too. Honestly, the mags could say it was de rigueur to have knobbly knees and people would swallow it.

morningconstitutional2017 · 06/11/2018 17:36

I share the same body type ownitfixit - dare I say that it's hardly worth getting too steamed up about this just because it's not fashionable. As long as you are fit and healthy that's what really matters.

No future partner worth his/her salt is going to moan at you for your lack of backside. If they do there are plenty more fish in the sea.

Be happy and healthy. It's extremely difficult to change your basic shape anyway.

timetodothis · 06/11/2018 17:37

and dont worry. This fad, like many others before it, will pass.

TheDarkPassenger · 06/11/2018 17:37

In your opinion. There are women on here expressing their upset about their bodies and you’re making comments like that? Not nice!

InertPotato · 06/11/2018 17:38

Personally I’m not a big fan of KK’s cartoonish proportions.

Go to Pilates, I’ve been going for just about 2 years and I’ve had to ease back on the bum exercise because mine is more muscular than I’d like.

timetodothis · 06/11/2018 17:40

and what SMLA says.

OP, You sound as if you have a lovely figure .
The sexiest look of all is not a faddy, questionable body shape, its being comfortable with how you are and eating healhily and trying to keep within your bmi . It all helps.

madcatladyforever · 06/11/2018 17:40

It's the only body you are ever going to have so you had better start loving it or your entire life will be wasted.

SundayGirls · 06/11/2018 17:41

I am a slim hourglass and I don't like it at all. I wish I had a flat chested, flat bum look (like a ballet dancer). I always wanted that shape. I've never shown off my boobs or my bum, in fact I hide my bum. I can count the times I've had my cleavage out (I'm a 32D) on on hand. I wear bandeau style tops if I wear something fitted but actual cleavage - no. I have worn a body con type dress approximately twice in my life. I tend towards the frumpy for swimwear as I don't want gawping at.

I mean I'm not all perfectly toned and all, this isn't a stealth boast. Just that I do have boobs and bum and a small waist etc and far from revelling in it, I feel self conscious about it.

I would happily swap with a small boobs, lean, boyish figure. The clothes I like the best suit that kind of figure best.

Yes, in my opinion.
It may not be your opinion but it's my opinion.

ownitfixit · 06/11/2018 17:42

I'm sure if I lose the extra weight I'll feel better.

Glad (kind of) others feel the same but we should all be able to love ourselves. It's hard!

Men don't seem to mind about their shape! Lucky sods

TheDarkPassenger · 06/11/2018 17:42

Well there’s a time and place really, I mean come on!

OoohAyyye · 06/11/2018 17:43

Just because it is more "fashionable" doesn't mean everyone suddenly desires big butts. People have preferred big butts / big boobs / small boobs / long legs/ long hair / blue eyes / whatever... since forever.

Nothing's changed really. Taste is individual.

ownitfixit · 06/11/2018 17:44

I'm a 32 FF and never ever 'get them out'. I drown in swathes of fabric.

OP posts:
SeasonOfTheCrone · 06/11/2018 17:48

I've changed my body shape with 15 mins of exercise per day for 30 days so far. I had become a squishy tube but now have a defined waist, less belly, great looking shoulders and am wearing jeans that I couldn't fasten 30 days ago. My bum is still small and that's how I like it but it's higher now due to strengthening my lower back muscles. Also I feel bloody marvellous and all in just 30 days, 15 minutes goes really fast. I'm back in love with exercise. Just keep going OP.

ownitfixit · 06/11/2018 17:52

I've been doing between 8 and 16 mins a day (one or two rounds) and I have to say it's definitely made a difference. I need to stop eating so much
