Jaywick is an area on the outskirts of Clacton, on the Essex coast. It was (possibly still is) the most deprived area in England. Recently, a Republican politician used images of Jaywick to show what would happen if the Democrats got control of Congress.

My brother lives in Jaywick. It was the cheapest place in England he could buy a property outright with the funds he had available.

It sounds very fifties American. The sort of name you would imagine a waitress in a diner to be called in a film.

Evonne or Yvonne is a nice name. I would leave the Mary out of it.

If you like unique names then use Mary. I bet she'll be the only one in her school and no worries about telling people how to spell it.

I don't like it at all. Neither do I like the name Yvonne. It's one of those French names that became hugely popular in the UK and Ireland during the 60s and 70s - others being Michelle, Lorraine and Jacqueline. Lovely in France where they have a heritage and are pronounced properly, but just sound dated and a bit cheap out of their natural environment.

But Mary is nice.
