Although dm gets on my nerves and stresses me I did kind of want her company on Christmas day, but I hadnt got round to mentioning it because we normally have alternate christmas and this year she is due with Us.
The other date may well not be convenient as we ALL work!

Your DM gets on your nerves and stresses you out, you are working part of the day, your children are adults, your sister has had a tough year, your mum is going to your sister's and you are getting in a huff because it's your TURN TO HOST?????

I think you need to explore some of the dynamics between the 3 of you, tbh. Did you grow up feeling that your DSis was the favourite or something? Is she older and you had to wear her hand-me-downs?

I'd say you've got a free pass to enjoy your day, frankly.

my family has a very similar setup in terms of alternate...each year one of us HAS to host my mother and the other laughs. Then roles reverse the following year. I have had DM for the last 3 years as DS is out of the country working. This year I have informed her DM is her job and to sort her life out or DM will be alone (I would never do this but DS doesnt know that) :).
