Pregnancy a danger to others? Defamation?

I'm pregnant with my first child and had a positive home pregnancy test before I set off for a volunteer trip to Africa. The pregnancy was confirmed by my doctor on return. The trip was awful and I tried to claim compensation but they've said as I hadn't informed them I was pregnant then I can't claim. They also state that I knowing put others in danger! I would have been 2 weeks pregnant at the time and I think this is grounds for defamation. I can get a written note from my doctor stating the date of confirmation from them. I took precautions and didn't take anti malaria tablets. It was low malaria season anyway. I'm angry that they stated that I as a pregnant lady was a danger to others (everyone is still alive). Should I seek legal help or just leave it? Thanks

How did they find out you're pregnant?

Hello everyone - thanks for your reports. OP has deregistered their Mumsnet account, and so we don't think there's much point in leaving this thread up when they won't be back to clarify what they mean, exactly...
